Body work on a '72 tent trailer. Tips, advice, comments welcome« » Reply  Edit

Hey guys, I bought a fine looking tent trailer for camping. The previous owner tried repairing some holes in the plastic roof with a fibre glass repair kit but decided to do it drunk and made a mess of everything. I patched up most of the holes myself after removing his attempt of repairing them. I found that cleaning up the mess he made on larger holes is too much work and too much time that I don't have. I plan on using body filler to smooth out his fibre work and I will be primering/painting afterwards. Is there anything I need to know about resin-filler-primer adhesion or anything?

Thanks in advance.

if it were mine, I would strip off everything the previous owner did and just glass the whole top again.

Well I repatched most of the holes that he did before. But I'm asking advice more in the filler/adhesion part of the project.
