| i plan on getting on some drag wheels for cheap. i'm wondering how reliable are these? i heard they're not via and jwl approved? what do these mean? |
Drag wheels do not bare JWL / VIA approval marks. JWL is Japan Light Alloy Wheel Standard. It's an approval mark to show that a wheel has passed through a self certification test prescribed by the Japanese equivalent of DOT here in the U.S.
VIA is a third party organization that makes sure the wheels are JWL compliant (as opposed to just printing a JWL mark after "self certification.")
We stopped carrying Drag wheels because of quality control issues and the lack of legitimate JWL / VIA approvals.
We much prefer wheels that have the approvals, or even better, wheels such as Konig that have JWL / VIA approvals as well as TUV (German standard, very strict requirements) and SAE (U.S. standard).
