Okay, so I need to replace the front rotors on a 2000 accord EX w/ V6. I am having serious trouble getting the screws that hold the rotor to come loose. This is what I have done:

1. I have used PBlaster with elbow grease...no luck.
2. I have tried my cordless black n decker 14.4 volt screwdriver...no luck.
3. I have utilized an impact screwdriver with PBlaster and elbow grease...and still no luck.
4. I have even searched the forum for an answer...no luck.

Someone suggested that I get a torch and heat up the screws and they should loosen up. However, I don't own a torch and I heard you can ruin the lubrication in the wheel bearings doing that. Any suggestions?

Torching the screw will expand it inside the hole, getting it stuck even more. An impact driver worked just fine for me, even after I almost stripped the screws using a drill.

i was with him until put the boulder in the back, i just got a mental image of a boulder in the back seat of an 89 accord, and the 4 fucktards trying to load in it in the parking lot of a home depot.

impact driver works well for me. Even a 10 year old rust encrusted screw was no problem. Hit harder? =P Hit as hard as you can. I was so pissed off and used my full force. Off no problem. =P

Okay. The one I borrowed is "old". Maybe if I try a new one it will have the kick to get the job done. Sears sells a craftsman for $25 but that is a little expensive considering I am only doing this once. Any suggestions on brands or places to get a new impact driver?

Other trick is to lube it with penetrating stuff for rusted bolts/screws.

Now, you use a metal chiesel (small) and a hammer, and bang the screw in a counterclockwise way, on it's edges..

Wait, ill do a schematic..

Try to use a well sharpened, small size chiesel to start, make some good marks and use a bigger one hitting harder. Remember, the more metal you chop off, the less chances you got left.

This is how i got many stuck brake screws loose at home. I dont have torches, this seemed the easiest way!

If you got new ones you want to put back on; use plenty of anti-sieze compound, and DO NOT tighten them. Just sit them enough so they wont unscrew themselves..
