i've had my civic for a couple years. since i've had it, i've always thought the trunk looked very poorly put together (the rest of car looks fine). there are exposed wires and cardboard in the trunk which is something i haven't noticed in other cars.

when people get into my car they all say it smells like battery acid.

i don't notice the smell with the windows down but when i open the sunroof or the windows this strong odor hits my nose.

i've taken it to the honda dealership and other auto shops and no one knows what the problem is.

the smell is hard to describe. it has a chemical smell, almost like cardboard mixed with some kind of wood finish and burning circuits.

does anyone know what this crap was made with? i'm afraid it might be a health hazard and damaging to a person's liver as many chemicals and oils are.
