looks like detonation and somekind of fuel additive or non pure fuel , or coolant in the combustion area.

well i can say pretty certainly that there isn't any coolant in the combustion area and there are no fuel additives there either... bad fuel could be a possibility but i would expect to see the same thing on all cylinders, this is the only cyl that is showing it

yeah, they're actually not silver specs... it seems like some kind of sediment more than crazy detonation. it only seems to be happening on this one cylinder which is what is concerning me

Sorry if you don't want to believe this, that is detonation. And from you pictures it is happening in all of your cylinders just more in one cylinder. What program are you running(crome,Hondata) or just a base map. Are you running closed or open loop?

Thanks for the reply, I'm not in denial or anything, just not able to accurately interpret what i saw and didn't think it could be det given how bad it looks... I know i have some det on the rest of the plugs but i didn't know what to think of what i saw on this plug & thought it had to be something else. I'm just trying to understand the problem & get it fixed... I run crome in closed loop, afr is 11.8 in boost but as i mentioned before but i rarely do any wot pulls on the car... it's recently only seen cruising and stop & go driving, no hard pulls. I'm currently running this map: Low Fuel
 High Fuel
 Low Ign
 High Ign
 i sincerely appreciate the feedback

What injectors? What octane? Where is your peak toruqe at(rpm)? I would try to get a couple sets of new plug(what heat range are your plugs). Iguessing you have 440s and if that is so, It looks like there is not enough fuel vs ignition in col.2-5 in the high mapsJust stating what I see. Can you post a 3d ignition map???It would easier for me explain. Do a datalog at crusing speed w/ new plugs, than try new plugs at wot.

Sorry about that, i should have included more details... i am on 440 dsm, 94oct, Range 7 Plugs, vtec set for 5200 and i don't know where my peak torque is because the car hasn't been on a dyno with this map. Also, I make full boost(6lbs) by approx 3800rpm & should not be hitting col 2-5 on the high map but I'll take note of what you're seeing... i thought about it a little more and if i'm somehow hitting that area in vac then it could be an issue like you're saying. here's a 3d of the HighIgn:
LowIgn:
i will do some logging today and try to post some of that...

smooth out columns 1-4 3000-6500rpm in high ignition WAY to much igniton, make it safer try: Col.1-4 at 2993k-4014k 39` of ign. col. 1-4 4500-8979k 41` ign.make a new copy of your map and add those numbers there is a reason for knowing where your peak torque is, you pull more timing. keep the ignitoin low until you get on a dyno, its the only way you find out if you make more or less power. I pmed my number if you need more help.

thanks, i'll go ahead and correct that part of the map but i'm not entirely sure that the issue is coming from those columns... i pulled the new plugs out after a little driving and i still see a few tiny specs of carbon on the porcelain although its nowhere near what this looks like.

When you are at crusing speed, are you in col. 6-8 in low cam?

it is almost impossible to read plugs that are that old. you should go to a dyno slap some new ones in and do a pull or two then take them out and inspect then. you will be able to learn much more starting there. -sander
