Yep, I am new. Picked up a 2002 Silver S2k w/ 54k mi a few weeks back. Been enjoying it too much to bother joining the board. Love the car. Previous cars include Audi S4 and TT. I would say the S2k outperforms both of them. Well the S4 with mods might have been faster in a straight line, but that of course is always debatable.
Either way to my questions. I performed searches but came up short. If there are prior threads, please point me that way.
1) The one touch function on the drivers windows switch is broken. Was wondering if this is a common problem? I assume a new switch can fix it. Before I go and get killed by a dealer, figured I would post here. Window goes up and down fine, but this also seems to affect the auto down when putting the top down.
2) I plan on swapping the head unit. The Parrot RK8200 has caught my eye. Honestly the flip down door cover is more annoying then helpful. Does anyone make a replace that maybe takes the place of the door. I am envisioning a solid piece with a whole in it so you can access the stereo. I was hoping for something that just snaps in or such. Otherwise, have to go the custom fab route.

ive never heard of the auto switch breaking, but anythings possible... you can replace that yourself... you should be able to find one used for $15-20
No that I know of... ill look around and see If I can find anything... you could always just remove the door... it wont be the cleanest looking thing, but it wouldnt be that bad... you could just get a used bezel and take it to a custom place... that should be fairly cheap as well...

just avoid the traffic in h-t.com
the window switch auto down are known for being faulty you can teach it to roll down completely by holding the switch down and press up and hold again. it's no a permanent fix but its such a simple task you could spent spending money on a new switch. if you want to ge a switch at least get the latest one form honda, i dont think the autodown thing affect much of ap2 if any.
you are looking to get fiber glass/bondo or just cutting a hole in the existing face plat e then, it's been done alot of time already. s2ki.com's ele. chapter has somce good pciture of finished install. you can reference that for some visuals.
but beware of flip up screen, those with the full size screen will hit the overhang dash. you can get rid of the whole vent and plate and fit a double din there no problem tho. the hardest part would be making the template since no one bother to make it in injection molded plastic
