I'm kinda in the same boat right now. I've changed axles, checked all the ball joints, checked motor mounts, etc...now I'm down to the end links. I just ordered some Energy Suspension front swaybar end links today because mine stock ones are 10 years old, get abused at solo events, and looked kinda tattered. We'll see what happens.

If you take them off the car. Push down on the shock rod, if it doesn't come up slowly or at all...then they are blown. You can kinda tell if they're leaking by seeing some fluid on the shock body but it's hard to see that sometimes.

dont the springs pop when they re-settle on the perches? because if it was a faulty/bad part it would make the popping all the time i'd assume.

Finally narrowed my clunk noise down to the passenger side axle. The half shaft has about a 1/2"-3/4" play.
