I bought ACL RACE ROD BEARINGS for a 97 TYPE R. Std size. I have eagle rods, and put the new bearings in, which i did have the bearings that came with the rods. Are the ACL RACE BEARINGS THICKER? i have a stock b18c5 crank.

Are the ACL RACE BEARINGS and the REGULAR ACL ROD BEARINGS much different?

Also when i tightened the rods to 40 lbs as per ARP, they were to tight, so i tighted it to 34 lbs just over stock spec. should i tighten a little more? any help will be grately appreciated.

did you tell ARP all your specs of everything your using and then ask them for a torque spec?

regular acls are green/brown on honda chart, race acl's are just a little thinner
= if you torqued the rods and their tight you should redo all your clearances without acls...
less torque to the rods is going to do nothing for you but to not have an engine for long.
40lbs seems excessive for the rods, but cant remember what arp calls for
