Hey guys, I'm going to be doing all the aero and re-doing some rear tin work in my car slowly. I've been shopping around and have seen lots of neat tools and stuff...however being a tin knocking nooB I'm not really sure what is imperitive to clean work.

I have some good snips, and I'm looking at the milwaukee electric sheers to save trips to and from a local roundy round race shop since I usually have them bang cuts out for me.

I can't afford, or store a big brake but those smaller ones from summit may be work out, if not I can make my cuts and make bulk trips to the shop.

I see lots of tools out there...and sort of know what they are used for but not totally filled in on their purposes.

I'll be cutting, rounding, 'folding', riveting, attaching, dzus-ing and procrastinating so any advice will help a lot!

I'll also need a link to those adjustable turn-buckles I see on all the decklid wings and such, those are trick

Thanks!
-Ryan

cardboard is your friend.. make everything out of cardboard first...just dont try to make the your first patterns in one piece.. just rough them out and tape pieces to it untill its perfect, then make a good one piece pattern..

Def, I was going to use mylar since it bends and conforms better than cardboard unless I can find a bunch of non-corrugated gift boxes lol

Any tooling suggestions or should I just buy a bunch?

second the electric shears.. I dont use corrugated card board, I get the stuff I use at a paper warehouse.. it comes in 3' x 5' sheets is like .050" thick..like a real heavy craft paper..if you could make and plan everything with the paper, then just make a trip or two to the race car shop, would save you a ton on tools..
edit.. you gotta have some clekos and pliers

Ahhh yes, Clekos and pliers!!

Over the weekend I had more insight as to what I'm going to do, and you're right lol, spell it out on paper and have Miller @ NRG make it pretty. I'll just buy the shears in any case, gotta re-do some things here and there to mock stuff up :-)
