TSX Dyno session and upgrades before and after, KingMotorsports« » Reply  Edit

Well I thought this might be helpful to anyone that is wondering what some bolt- on's could do if the correct parts were ordered. We had a chance to do just that, The car is a 2004 TSX 80,000 miles bone stock. We tested the car on the dyno before doing anything to have a good baseline. Then we proceeded to install the upgrade parts. Here is the spec list.

04 TSX
Mugen High performance air intake system
Mugen catted header
Mugen sports exhaust
Hondata reflash

Here is the before and after graph
Blue line-Baseline
Red Line-Upgraded

Comptech header vs. Mugen header
Red line -Mugen
Blue line-Comptech

Nice jump in numbers: 22.61 hp, and 10.05ft.-lbs of torque.

What was the overall cost of the Mugen parts + Hondata?

Any plans on going a little more extreme? More aggresive head or cam? Bigger throttle body (06+/aftermarket)? Bump in compression?

The graph with Mugen vs. Comptech header...is this the same car?

I would buy a Mugen header...if it was Ca smog legal...which it is not. Although there is definitely more power to be gained just from a well tuned header.

Does the Mugen "catted" header contain a high flow cat?

When the Comptech Header vs. the Mugen Header was run, was the Comptech Header attached to the stock cat or a high flow cat...stock exhaust or Mugen exhaust?

Overall...I would like to see your Mugen setup vs Comptech/Injen (or something comparable) with a high flow cat setup to see how the two would compare.

Just curious.
