Looking for the best 70s, 80s , preferably Honda cruiser. Something fairly slim or with removable cargo bags. Getting for a friend who has seen some HARD times recently. Looking to spend no more than 1500.

Needs to be reliable
Preferably a twin to go for that harley sound/feel on my budget
LOUD this thing has to be such a deep loud rumbling roar I don't care what it takes.

LOUD
Reliable
Twin

In that order of importance, thanks guys. I should be able to keep you posted on how this goes. Can do yamas, zuki, or kawa, just prefer my Hondas for obvious reasons and it would make the gift a bit more personal-he knows I go belly up for anything with the H on it.

The word 'Honda' is almost synonymous with 'Loud' nowadays...

one bike comes to mind

1978 Honda Goldwing 1000cc four cylinder

badass

Insainely smooth power oputput and much room for having a super comfortable bagger. You can also make them loud and sound extremely cool while doing it.

Or you can just go with the first metric cruiser ever, a 1976 Kawasak KZ750 LTD twin.

I have a 1977 LTD for sale

Two of the best eighties cruisers dont fit your requirements... but they are

the:

V65 Manga

VMax

Maybe the sabre also, to a lesser extent...

Mschu, I'd consider all three of those motorcycles "muscle bikes," particularly the Sabre. IMO cruisers have the "wheelbarrow" handlebars, fat rear tire, and a stepped seat. I guess the Vmax does meet the fat rear tire and stepped seat criteria, but I always thought it was too badass to relegate to the "cruiser" category.

It's gotta have a little muscle to be fun...

They do fit the Cruiser category though as designated by the raked front end and the relaxed seating position and squat rear end

those are the two major components to determining whether a bike fits that category. I know sport bikes that have bar risers, so bar configuration is not really a determining factor. But your right, Mr. Max is a muscle bike

LOL... well, anything with open pipes will be loud. None of those above will sound like a hardly... they are V 4's, they will sound more like a deep RC30
