I forgot to mention that I put the d15b7 intake on the y7, so it should be fine, right? I mean it runs good now, I was just wondering if the map for a 16 would help. I have a z6 intake and throttle body I was going to install, but It's the same size as the b7 intake and throttle body.

But the calibration between the OBD1 and OBD2 D-series engines is radically different. The OBD2 heads are much more efficient and make power in lower RPMs than the OBD1 engines. So the ignition timing advance is much less and the VE table peaks lower. What this amounts to is that your engine will run fine but the tune is not optimal. Power and economy will be less than the stock motor with the stock ECU.

So in short, the difference in the calibrations between the P06 and P28 is much less* than the difference between them both and the OBD2 ECUs.

*since VTEC is not a factor in the case of your D16Y7

One more question If I put a eprom chip in my p06 and use chrome (or some other program) can I program the stock y7 baseline? Or are you saying it won't because of being obd2?
