I really don't wanna hear any safety issues. Can somebody please tell me the best way to disconnect the ABS brake system on an 05 Accord. I'm most likely just going to pull the main relay and or fuses but don't want the light on the dash. It may sound like a stupid question, but there is nothing wrong with them, just rather not have it. Thanks

that's the only way, and you will have a light on the dash. the only other way is to get non abs brake lines from a non abs car(not sure if your year had a non abs car) and if your year dies not have a non abs car you need to get lines manufactured for replacement and bypass of the abs modulator and abs bias/distributor block. I have run them for years with the fuse pulled... no biggie

Ok, Thanks. Guess I'll just have to deal with a little light.

Do you mind if we ask why you want to disable the ABS in the first place?

If you have VSA, remember that the ABS and VSA systems are interoperative. They rely on each other.

By VSA I assume you mean traction control. And no, I don't have it. The main reason is that they always seem to engage at the worst moments. Like when I was stopping at a light, I hit a sewer, which engaed the ABS and made my car stop way after the line. The ABS is actually causing me to have less control over my stop rather then without. It could also be the effect of a bigger aftermarket wheel.

By VSA I assume you mean traction control.

The G7-A six cylinders have both VSA and traction control...and ABS.

VSA uses the ABS. Traction control does not always use ABS, in that the computer can over ride what you are doing in order to get more traction, and it does not need ABS to do it.

For example, if you are trying full throttle acceleration on the ice, the computer sends a "Driver Is Crazy" signal and even if your foot's mashed to the floor you might only get 3000 RPM because that's all you can use and still have traction.

You turn off traction control and VSA with the single switch that is marked VSA, but they are two different systems.

Personally, for whatever it is worth, I think the ABS system on my 6-6 is working too well to turn off. It's not quite as good as the multichannel system on the track car, but it seems to work very well for me.

I cannot tell you what to do, of course, and it's your car and your head. :-)

(Oh, and by the way.... When you have VSA, traction control, ABS and a Torsen axle, life can be very interesting.)
