I get to post in the Fit section!

I recently traded in the family car, a 99 Civic LX auto, for a brand new SSM Fit Sport 5MT.

The Fit will be my DD as I don’t drive the Si much. Mods on the Fit will be kept to a minimum and my main focus will be enhancing fuel mileage.

I do plan on purchasing the JDM console with armrest, floor mats, rubber floormats for the winter, and a set of steelies with dedicated winter tires. Maybe throw on some 16" SSR Integrals I have had laying around in the garage forever. Other than that I’ll be pumping up the tires and driving like an old man!

The wife and I are amazed at the interior room. It seems much larger than the Civic. The extra hauling capacity thanks to the hatch is nice. We also like the LATCH anchors for the child seat, 5 star crash rating, and all the airbags it boasts. We were looking for something safer for the kids. We are expecting our second in August and feel this will suit our needs just fine. Most people go out and buy a minivan or SUV when they have 1 kid, we are having a second and go out and buy a compact!

I got the Storm Silver Metallic. It's good to hear you're getting that mpg with the auto. I'm hoping for that or more with the manual.

I've recently gotten 44.5 and 41.mpg with 6,000 mile oil and a 28,000 mile air intake filter with low tire air pressure.

(recently got them both changed)
