Hi,

I'm planning on buying an 08 fit or an 08 civic real soon.
Can I get your input on which one is the better buy and better "bang for the buck" value?
Which one has a more comfortable drive and better mpg from your personal experiences. Any other random information is also appreciated.

Thanks
David Nguyen

Depending what trim level civic you buy, the Fit is basically the same as the civic. At the civic's lowest trim level; the price is basically the same, the horsepower is exactly the same, torque is basically the same, number of people it can seat it the same, and mpg is basically the same.

This dilemma comes down to sheer subjective preference, which is a decision you should not let others make for you.

Essentially, since the cars are the same in so many regards; the question is what body style do you prefer? Do you want a hatchback that looks like a wedge of cheese with wheels (or a slanted fridge), or do you want a generic four door which is a friend to grandmothers and high school girls alike? (I am not knocking either by the way, I owned a civic of some sort for 6 years, and now own a Fit, but lets be realistic here).

Thanks for the reply.

I guess it comes down to my personal preference.

Since you've had a civic before and a fit now, which one would you say has a more comfortable ride?

For me that is not really a fair question. My civic had full coilovers, solid engine mounts, straight through 3" exhaust, 300 whp, and torque steer that would make the car lane change .

I guess when the civic was stock it was pretty comfortable.

I really like the Fit's seats and the ease of the hatchback. For a completely stock car it handles great and the steering it tight like a go-kart. I love the styling of the Fit because it is a little different compared to most cars on the road.
