Well now that I have some time and enough pics and progress built up, I thought I'd share with this site my CRX SIR N14 project.

What it is: a 1988 CRX Si that was, for all intents and purposes a neglected car on its way to the scrap yard.

What it is going to be: An SIR look-a-like with every power option you would find in an Integra LS.

Power door locks
Power windows
cruise control
power steering
AC - doing the 90-93 Accord conversion
Full Chassis OBD1 wiring conversion
95 GSR gauge cluster
93 GSR front and rear brake conversion with prop valve and master cylinder and booster
JDM front conversion
JDM Se/SIR spoiler
Leather seats
OEM Honda keyless entry


I have been posting pics from the start in another thread, there's probably 300 or so already.

Updated the progress done this weekend, about 50 or so pics. Getting ready for colour. Prime has been sprayed on the chassis.

I now have the car block sanded and sealer sprayed. Color gets shot tonight. More pics updated for those who are interested...

Thanks!! N14 is creeping up on me fast! Paint pics are up, and will post some daytime shots this evening. I'll be starting the motor build this weekend.

I read every post in the linked thread. Insanity. That green is sweet.

This is the kind of thing the wife and I always discussed doing with her '89 CR-X Si and never had the time, money or motivation to do.

I love the paint, and the gunmetal GT3's/DR16's(?) are sweet. I should have gone gunmetal rather than black on mine, it'd have looked better with the gold paint.

Seriously I think your CR-X is my favorite on HT...nice to see someone that isn't a slave to the JDM bandwagon.

Thanks for the kind words... It has been a bit of a grind lately, body work can seriously kick the crap out of you. I ended up making more progress this weekend, and posted up 30 more pics... what can I say, I'm a pic whore too!!

This weekend saw some decent progress, I got the hatch, spoiler and fenders painted, and the new squirt nozzle setup and mounted. Also I re-installed the rear window glass, but those pics will be up later.

Well this weekend saw some final paint work done on the front and rear bumpers. The front cover was trashed and needed way too much work, but it eventually came out pretty good. I threw up around 40 pics.... here's a couple pics from the weekend for here...

btw, how do you remove those molding off the 1/4 panel window glass? ive yanked out one at the junkyard before and broke the glass

I actually did get my old ones off before i removed the glass, but it took several hours, and I trashed them hard. To get the new ones on you definitely need to remove the rear glass. There's a molded in clip at the curved end of the window.

Update - I now have the b18c1 motor mostly complete and ready to be dropped in the car. Plus the rear of the car is now completely assembled. 20 or so pics up.

Well, the motor is finally in, and the front end is starting to come together. This weekend was pretty productive, but I have a ton left to do.

For those who are following, a parts store error resulted in a nice 6 puck racing clutch yipee!!
