Well, my car was stolen last week so now I'm need of some transportation to get to campus, the gym, groceries, etc. I saw the little Ruckus and though it looked like a cool, inexpensive way to get around. My first thought was to go with a Ninja 250, but I love the way the little Ruckus looks.

I'm going to go test ride one out today, anything else I should know about it? What class license do I need to ride it around? And how do I get to a test center to get a license if I don't have one?

Since the Ruckus in under 50cc, you don't need any motorcycle endoresment to ride one. However, I think you'd be happier with a Yamaha Zuma. The Zuma is a 2-stroke and much more fun to ride than the 4-stroke Ruckus.

Awesome, that means I can go pick it up and ride it on out Thanks.

I looked at the Zuma, but I love how the Ruckus has little paneling and looks really robust.

Exactly, hey 108 miles to the gallon? Not too shabby

I'll take a look at PJDM and see what they have... Some users on totalruckus.com reported getting theirs up to 55-60 MPH with a few mods.

I'll let you guys know how the test ride went later on.

Yep.

This may vary in other states, but in CA you need an M1 endorsement to ride one of those badboys. But guess what? You can take your license test on one of them, too. Sweet.

Just got back, they still had one. They wanted $2900 OTD

He told me that I only need an M2 certification, not an actual M1 license?

I believe it is M2 that you need... classified as a motorized scooter because of the displacement

...of course it wouldn't make much sense, especially since you've already looked into something like the ninja 250, to stop short of getting your M1 endorsement

What about the price? I'm hearing that people are getting WAY better prices OTD from the stealerships. I read most users got their Ruckus for ~$2200.

That may have been possible when they first came out, but for some reason, they're all the rage now. I see at least one every day when I'm out.

I guess if you shop around enough, you'll find a good deal. Have you tried looking for used Ruckussessessess (Ruck-i?).

i got mine for 2400 OTD.

i love the thing. i am a big guy 6 foot 6 about 280 pounds and i hit 43 on a nice day on a flat without tucking.

i've had it for more then a month and only put gas in it once and i ride it a lot.
there are many many many after market parts for these and they rule. Its kinda worst then owning a car in my opinion cuz since i got one i can not stop modding it.

150cc swap is going in mine soon. 65 mph+ here i come

-08 Ruckus - 150cc very soon
-05 Element - gunna be murdered out soon also
-91 Integra - boosted slut
Function is Form.

They do? I didn't find it listed on the Honda website. I would love a little Rukus to tear around town on... then I could give my real bike a break.
