  03 EP3 Rims on an 08 Fit« » Reply  Edit

I picked up some flat black EP3 rims off Craigslist, I see no reason why they would not fit on my 08 Fit, since the rims listed for sale on TireRack for the 03 EP3 are the same as those for the 08 Fit.

Will there be much hassle with the TPMS when I switch over? I saw a youtube video of rims being switched on an 08, and though the rims were not intended for the TPMS, there was no issue.

Before I go and buy some 205/50/15s I just wanted to double check .

Cant you just transfer the sensors over? You wont know if the sensors will take until you have the sensors installed and drive the car around.

If the light pops on, its obvious that they didnt take.

A friend of mine has an 08 Fit. He put his OEM wheels on his Delsol, bought ANOTHER pair of OEMs (07, without TPMS) and transfered his sensors to the 07 wheels. His light popped on.

Its a roll of the dice. You may have to visit the dealer a few times to get it reset.

Yeah, that was the general consensus I got from the TPMS thread I read on here; but there was no solid answer.

So I guess I will wait an see. I sure hope the TPMS light does not come one, I hate unnecessary yellow lights on my dash. I had to live with an o2 CEL on my turbo civic for awhile and it killed me .

Post some pics when you get all figured out. I want to see how it looks. Let us know how the TPMS works out afterwards too.

Yeah, that was the video I was talking about in my first post. I have already seen that one, which is why I know that the TPMS can be switched over without an issue. Apparently it is not always the case, and it varies from rim to rim.

I will post up some pics when I get them on the car (which should be in a few weeks).

I work at a tire shop and we swap sensors like this all the time, only issue or problem you might run into is, some sensors are designed specifically for the rims and when you swap them over the sensor isnt flushed with the rim. It sticks out which means if you get a flat bye bye sensor.
