Only the third generation TL is strictly USDM.

Actually, Canada and China market too as far as I know. The 3gen TL is the first Acura designed and built in the US.

it's marked as a Honda Inspire in japan, slight differences but it's more or less the same, second gen anyway

I thought 2nd gen were the ones that had all the problems with transmissions?

Anywho, my 3rd gen tl-s transmission was the only part built in Japan
