I just ordered the edelbrock performer x kit for my B18B motor. the kit though is for a B18C. the piggy back it comes with would be for vtec so i assume i would have to use something else to have it tuned. please give me ideas on what i should get so it can be tuned. the cheaper the better but i what it to still be fast and reliable. thanks in advance.

yeah i have heard that hondata is good the only this is that it is expensive. whats the difference between hondata s300 and s200. is s200 worth the extra money?

they dont make the s200 anymore....they only offer the s100 and the s300. the s300 is worth the extra money for sure

i was told the only thing the s300 is better for is if you want to tune it yourself. i have no tuning knowledge about tuning so would it still be worth the $500 more dollars?

in my honest opinion, yes absolutely. go read around on their site and forum---there are plenty of differences.

wow thanks for that link. looking at it i think i'll try and get s300. i called up a tune shop and they said it would be $75 to send to hondata to prep it and then for the s300 it would cost another $600. Are these good prices?

The S300 is sick and Hondata is doing a good job of constantly updating with new options.(Unlike with the S200 where we had to wait forever for bug-fixes.) It's very stable, and should fit any need that you have...even in the future, when 250whp starts feeling slow.

Don't make the mistake that most people make, and skimp out on crucial parts.

If it's the money, realize that a proper ECU tuned by a legit tuner will in the end cost you much less then a new Motor.

what i meant was is $600 for s300 and $75 to send my ecu to hondata for preping the ecu for installation seem like a good price for hondata.

what do you mean by skimp out on crucial parts? other than 1 step colder spark plugs doesn't this kit come with everything?

I will be having it tuned at a shop.

what does EFI stand for? The kit is for 7 psi and it comes with extra injectors... would i NEED anything else fuel related?

And does anybody what i should be paying for hondata?

EFI= Electronic fuel injection.

the hondata s300 unit retails for about 595. labor for ecu work usually runs around 75 bucks. a chipped and socketed ecu is required when running the s300.

any AUTHORIZED HONDATA dealer can install the s300 unit and do all the required ecu work for you, all you have to do is send in your ECU to whichever hondata dealer you decide to do business with. they MAY send your ecu directly to hondata to have it prepped, or more than likely they will prep the ecu and install the hondata s300 unit themselves....

contact any of the authorized hondata dealers listed on their website.

ok that was what i was looking for. just wanted to know that the price i was quoted was fair.

Another question i was wondering was i was told that a turbo timer was important to help the turbo last long. does tuning have anything to do with a turbo timer? because i might get one later after it is tuned.

a turbo timer pretty much allows you to keep the car running for X amount of minutes afterdriving. it lets the car idle and cool down and i think while the car is idling and cooling down, the oil returns to the pan and doesnt stay in the turbo.

i dont need a turbo timer since i already have one built into myclifford matrix alarm.

i dont know much about turbo timers, so take what i said with a grain of salt. a quick search of turbo timers on honda tech or google, could answer your question

What do you guys think about crome? I could use a break on cost. i would just need to have my ecu chipped and then burned with crome then have it tuned right?
