its fine in the snow with the right tires. Dont try all seasons, get a set of rims and put snows on them.that doesnt keep other people from sliding into you tho. I had 3 close calls this year, non were my fault, 2 of them i was sitting still at a redlight and someone behind me started to lose control. I was first in line, and got out of the way from one of them or he would have def hit me.

It depends on how many hills you have on your daily drive and whether you can avoid them. I daily drive mine, but I fitted snow tires on my stock wheels and use those when needed. High performance tires freeze up in the snow and won't grip worth shit. If you plan on DDing your S, I'd definitely have two sets of wheels. Also two 50lb bags of rice in the trunk doesn't hurt.

I had planned on driving my S during winter (purchased a set of stock ap1 wheels with blizzaks for cheap) until I came across a b16 crx for $1200 - now that's my beater all year long

There's pretty much no hills at all in my area. Only slight road inclines of maybe 5-10 degrees. What winter tires work/perform the best? I've heard Dunlop's and Bridgestone Blizzaks are pretty much the best, but which one has the best grip?

Heres my take from my experience:Dunlop Graspic 2: (i think they are discontinued and updated with graspic 3?) -really really really good in snow and ice. no complaints at all for winter traction. -Really good grip in wet and dry on non snowy days. -Soft compound, I drove kinda hard on dry days, and wore thru about half the tires in a winter/some of spring. current setup: Kelly snows up front: -Inexpensive -never had problems with front traction, but this normally isnt a problem with S's. I can say, my car has never pushed (understeered) on them. Blizzaks on the back: -Decent winter grip (doesnt seem as good as the dunlops) - seem to be lasting a long time - really slick in the spring wetness. certain concret merges (like on an overpass) takes about ~10% throttle to have the back kick a little. its almost scary slick on certain rainy days and i cant wait to get off them. im shopping for wheels/tires now.

lmao he tried to make his point read properlly and still [freak]ed it up... what you meant to say is that there are four cars in your household, with only a 3 car garage, therefor one is parked on the driveway...

man if would ever snow down here I would be driving it! With the top down of course!I got mine in September '07. I had the top down every day except when it rained until probably mid January before it started getting a little chilly. If it is at least 45 degrees and sunny, I have the top down. At night, under 50 degrees the top is up. But people who get a lot of snow, load the trunk and go. You will probably want to get some tires with thicker tread, maybe go with studs if you want to. The stock Michelins aren't exactly set up for snow. I used to live in NC, not really the "north" but i've driven in a foot or better of snow. FWD is fun, but RWD with some power is fun to the point of almost insanity!
