i took my stock h22a to 8500 on the tach (~8200 real) on many occassions and never ran into any problems. Now i dont recommend doing that unless you are tuned or just dont give a [freak] about mechanical error. I am both and enjoy testing the limits.

are your cams degreed?

I have basically the same setup and spin mine to 8500, shift light set at 8200. I've been thinking about bumping it to 9000. I think my peak power is at 7800 RPM but it doesn't fall off fast.

(euro R motor with JUN cams and valvesprings/retainers, no balance shafts, stock bottom end, 230WHP/170TQ)

224 on a stock header is awesome ! ! !

I made 220 on an internal stock longblock w/ boltons . . . .

I wouldnt take it too much past 82/8300 and you should be fine. I just dont trust the stock rods all that much , but i am sure there are exceptions to everything . . .

What rpm did it make power to on the dyno?

This guy never updates anything, its a shame because his h22 is one of the most stout h22s I've ever seen.

He did finally get his header on, made 240/162 without a retune and with the pro1s still not degreed in.

I'll try to make him post a graph.

Man that is some nice power. To be honest, it looks like his cams may not need to be degree'd.

Possibly, but he is going to have them degreed just to make sure.

Nice!

What was the redline? Still 8500?

I bet you can work the intake length and degree the cams and get more torque out of it.

The Skunk IM isn't that much different than the Euro R IM, is it? What Throttle Body is that, just a 62mm one?

he has a skunk2 TB on it , not sure what size.. he did tune the intake lenth prior to the cams etc.. but the cams need degree'd and it does need retuned... And i gotta say this Bish is LOUD!! the race header exit's out the side of the bumper.. it sounds like a damn drag bike...

I was gonna be jealous but with the TB and IM (beyond what my rules allow) an extra 10 HP is reasonable.

I still have 10 more torque though, so I'll stay happy for now.
