4000 RPM means a rather big vacuum leak. I have found small leaks by using a compression tester and an air compressor. You just pressurize one of the cylinders making sure the intake valves on that cylinder are open and just listen for air. Engine off of course.http://WWW.MAXBORE.COM

just checked it earlier today again and I believe it is the FITV, because when I plug the bottom hole in the throttle body, it idles fine. I checked with napa auto parts and autozone but they don't seem to carry this part, any ideas on where to get it from besides the dealer?

fix your FITV for free. just open it up and tighten down the "plunger"http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2153910

thanks man, but I already tried that twice, its tight already, but air is still being sucked through when the car is warm, so I guess I'll have to replace the whole damn thing. Is this a dealership part only? because no one else carries it.

im having this same prob.. i just put my blox IM on.. all sensors checked cleaned the iacv tightened the fitv.. and it still goes up and down from 1500 to 2k warm and cold.. also checked and rechecked all my vac hoses.. kinda at a loss right now =/also if im driving it around lets say 30mph 4th gear it will stutter back a forth.. does that maybe sound like a tps problem? a Modified by Koda at 11:21 PM 5/6/2008

If the TPS is the problem, then you would have a CEL because of it. What throttle body are you using?

Did you make sure you got all the old gasket off? Throttle body and Intake Manifold? I installed a blox manifold on my GSR nad It idles just fine. I also have a Omni throttle body that doesn't use that fast idle valve thing under the stock GSR throttle body.

I don't have the blox manifold, but if you have a OBD1 GSR TB, you need to make sure the TB seals all the way along the bottom of the manifold.

make sure you get all the old gasket off. it should be your problem because you have a very big vac. leak.

Was it the FITV or was it something else that caused the problem?
