Attention all you Scion drivers:
My name is Alec Cervenka and I am helping organize the first micro-car track event for 2008 and we need YOU! We already have a number of confirmed Fit and Yaris drivers for the day, but it wouldn't be fair unless we had some competition from our Scion rivals, the xA, xB (v1 and v2) xD, and the tC!
The event will be run by Speed Ventures, which is one of the more established companies for track events in California and we have worked out a plan so that every attendee will have a free transponder with their payment of the track fees. This way we can really see who is the fastest Micro Car out on the track! The track fees will be $150 for the day and this will secure the track so that we can have a Micro Car - centric event.

Track: Streets of Willow
Date: May 11, 2008
Price: $150 per person

So far, we have about 10 confirmed Fit and 10 confirmed Yaris drivers coming to the event and we thought it would be nice to see some competition from the Versa crowd.
Let me know what you guys think and we all hope to see you there!

UPDATE 03/17
The event has changed and is now open to all makes and models. However, if you send me your information, you will be run in the micro class with a transponder included.
The event is now being completely run by Speed Ventures, I will post the registration link as soon as it is available.

i didnt sign up on the wrong day. i signed up on the CORRECT weekend. (both days)

i know that it says im only there for SAT. but i have emailed speedventures, and im signed up for the full weekend.

i'd really like it if there were confirmed micro-class cars signed up for this weekend. why arent the names showing up on speedventures website anymore?

From what I understand, the micro-only day was canned, but May 11 is now open to all vehicles, including a micro class.

yeah.... but i'm still talking to Larry over at speed ventures. he would still lik all of the micro cars to show up. no, we dont get the track all to ourselves... but there will be different cars running at different times. perhaps they will run the micro cars all at once. im still finding out more info each day.

to answer your question, yes i'm tracking the fit.

one reason why is because i was invited by a co-worker who is really into scions.

and another reason why is because this is my first track event for road racing. i dont want my first time to be on the track being my k20a crx. thats just crazy.

a bunch of the slower cars on the track all at the same time sounds much safer to me.

are you interested in attending or just bustin' my balls?

Yeah...true, don't want to be all nervous and stuff in a car that you spent a good bit of time building.

lmao.. actually seems like a fun event wish I could attend...but I'm just bustin your balls.

the first time i raced was with my k20a eg6, it was hella fun

but with a faster car, you have less reaction time, shit happens quicker, and you just have to do so much

i'm gonna be going to this event with my automatic fit, it'll be much easier to drive, easier to learn, and probably more fun with same cars on the track

Nah, I want to bring the Fit but I gotta ask my wife and see if she has anything planned for me that weekend.

I'm just reading up at the SpeedVentures site and weighing my options right now, it's very tempting...
