I'd feel safer with the whole motorcycle up on a trailer, like the mc-trailer from UHaul. An Integra, and most compact-to-midsized cars, can tow 1500lbs. Yes, you won't be able to accelerate as fast. Also, I imagine there's a possibility of damage to the rear wheel and transmission if the wheel, chain, and spockets are turning.

Yes..i suppose you can put the rear on a dolly?? I'll post some picture after the fab work and you can decide if it will work on your evo. | Quote, originally posted by marmaladedad » | | I'd feel safer with the whole motorcycle up on a trailer, like the mc-trailer from UHaul. It is possible but I don't imagine it being any different then driving the bike on two wheel.

I would use that lift only for the purpose of moving a race bike through the pits. I'd never use that thing over the road.

Then I would have to register, plates, etc.... I could make something like this for 50 in material. I think the mc trailer is like 350-400?

There is no lubrication for the engine. If the bike's wheel is turning, the chain is moving, the front sprocket will turn, moving the crankshaft, knee-bone-connected-to-the-shin-bone, etc.

Am I missing something? If you have the bike on neutral...only the tranny shaft will be spinning and there is alway fluid in there. Even if the bike was in gear ( don't know why one would do this), the crankshaft will spin and that would pump the motor oil. I can't say that I am an expert motorcycle mechanic.... but if it is anything like a car...this is how it would work. Correct me if I am wrong here.

I'd rather wear out my tire/chain/sprocket riding rather than getting to the ride.

You plan to put almost the complete weight of the motorcycle a foot or two beyong the bumper of your lowered integra? Good luck with that. A trailer will work much better. It seems like those you are talking about are designed for trucks or bigger cars

No its not...unless its in gear. Its like a bicycle that dosent have the crank fixed to the sprocket. You can pedal backwards and the bike still roll forward. | Quote, originally posted by civhatch90 » | | You plan to put almost the complete weight of the motorcycle a foot or two beyong the bumper of your lowered integra? Say what? your only elevating and holding the front wheel. On a 400lb bike your putting prob 100-150lbs max down I would say. Probably less.

From the pictures, that thing looks awfully low. Going in and out of driveways/gas stations might be a little sketchy. But good idea. I'm practicing my stand ups so I should be able to get it on the chock pretty easy.

Not sure where you're taking the bike that's being towed with that ridiculous device, but at $300 plus for a decent set of race tires, I sure as hell won't be putting any trackday bike on there and flat spotting the rear all the way to the track. Not to mention chain/sprocket wear. This seems best for cruisers.
