i bought a 90 Accord 2dr for $500 about 8 months ago. it looked like crap but i knew it was going to be a project so i got it. it had overheating problems which i fixed and i need to replace a heater core. in addition, when it was in an accident before me, the people who painted the car didnt even sand it down . so to start off, i am going to be painting the car and replacing the heater core. im excited because i want to know what it feels like to accomplish something big. pics will be up..when i figure out how..haha..

well, here are some pics, seeing as i cant find the other camera i took the before ones with. this fender was a little bit high so i had to grind it down and get the shape back.

started sanding down the hood before realizing it had a lot of dings and dents

so, had to get a new hood

i had a dent here so what i had to do was grind it down to metal and weld pins in there so i could pull the dent out. at first i was a little scared to use some force because i thought that i was going to pull it out too far. but i got a little carried away and thought it was easy and completely pulled out 2 of the pins.

so tonight i had to haul ass to get her in the paint booth. i had to do last minute bondo and smooth it out, and also went over the car with 400 sandpaper. once that was done, i wiped it down with a cloth and took a blower to make sure all the little pieces of dirt were blown out of their hiding spots. i did this because if i didnt, as i was primering it would have got all over the primer and made it look like crap. so, got it in the booth and she is primered, dont have pics due to time, so ill be picking her up tomorrow and re-sand with 600 sandpaper to smooth the primer to a baby's bottom so here are a few pics from today, sorry if they look like crap.

here she is ready for primer

have you first located where it is leaking from? the slave cylinder or the master cylinder?

look under the dash along the firwall near the clutch pedal... do you see any fluid leaking in that area? If so, replace the clutch master cylinder and bleed the system. If no...

look at the slave cylinder on the front of the tranny housing. Is there fluid leaking from it? If so, replace that and bleed the system.

Two more not as likely clutch line connections you could check would be the clutch dampener and the clutch Hose. The high pressure rubber clutch hose runs between the trannie and the frame rail. Check both connection ends of the hose and the hose itself. The Rubber hose is mounted to the trannie next to the shift arms. It connects to the frame rail right above the clutch dampener. The dampener is mounted on the frame rail and could be another place to check for leaks

well, it doesnt leak by where the clutch is, it leaks from the tranny. picture as if you are looking at the engine bay from the front, its on the bottom left. so today i went to pick her up and figured i would just top off the clutch reservoir and its been fine today, no leaks.. i dont know why. the clutch only stuck 2 times but i was able to pull it up and shift in time.

by the way, car is painted and getting pics tomorrow

I just went through the same problem last week.First I had the clutch master replaced and it drove fine for a couple of days then it went out again and it was the slave which should have been replace when I had the master done.

My suggestion,Get both your master and slave done at the same time and get them done ASAP!When your clutch slave cylinder goes and you don't get any pressure whatsoever, you'll be screwed, trust me,I just went through it.Had I got both done at the same time,it would have saved me quite a bit of money.

Don't b.s. about it just because youthink that it's o.k..Chances are that those are still the original parts and if that's the case, then more than likely they are about ready to fail.Don't B.S.,get it taken care of like yesterday!

Hey when I first saw the white paint I was hoping that it wouldn't stay that color. The silver looks nice dude .

As far as the price,I guess it all depends on where you take it to.I had to have my car towed so that definitely jacked the price up.Excluding the tow,it cost just under $200 parts and labor and the master cost just under $150,so around $350 for both.I'm pretty sure that I got raped on the slave, but what can you do?Shop around and maybe you can find a better deal.

I really wish I knew how to paint or had some friends that had a shop,it would save me a shit load of money that I'm gonna have to spend to get my car repainted.

painting is the easy part the body work is what is hard. i suggest you ask some shops if they will let you use their booth. it would be worth the experience, trust me

well, i think i might want to do it myself. im always trying to learn new things.
