Koni Suspension setup.. sucks.. or just my car?« » Reply  Edit

Well, I put on some koni yellows & h&r SPORT springs on my car last year after summer. Well, right off the install... it drove like crap. Well.. on a straight road it was pretty pleasant.. but the slightest bump would make that THUD or feel like something is SMACKING the arm underneath or something. I'm no suspension god or anything so I don't know what it could be. Since it drove like this right form install.. im thinking maybe It's something else.. i followed the articles and had help with someone who knew how to install em. Front tires JUST touch the fender. rear tires are about even.

just to give you an idea of ride height.

Is there anything that may be causing this? My friends have considerably cheaper setups and ride WAY better than mine over the same bumps.

Ive searched and searched.. I checked underneath for loose parts.. didnt really feel any.

Maybe upgrading to GC coilovers will improve this?

If the noise is coming from the front it may be the A-arm hitting the shock tower

Agreed.

If a sliding balljoint UCA or offset balljoint "camber kit" has been installed, its likely the UCA hitting the shock tower.

This is the primary reason to not use a front camber kit on an Integra, btw.

My shock towers have nice dents from my SPC UCAs. Too bad I couldn't get the desired camber without it (I want more camber than lowering provided).

i currently have the same set up on my intgera and same thing happens.
i think the H&R sports are too low and soft.
going back to GC 380f 250r , the eibach pro street s coilover kit or H&R street coilover kit.

i would rather PUSH my honda home than drive a KIA........

the H&R sport springs don't even lower the car that much do they? Isn't it a 1.75 inch drop? That is not enough to eliminate the wheel gap! I have the H&R "touring" springs, and they lower it 1.5 inches and I can barely tell its lowered! I agree though, the spring rates are waaaaay too soft! Every time I take a corner too hard or hit a sudden downhill to uphill again my suspension compresses and my mudflaps scrape on the ground lol.

H&R Race spring:
Rate: Front- 460 Rear-350
Drop: Front- 2" Rear- 1.75

H&R Sport spring:
Rate: Front- 276 Rear-276
Drop: Front- 1.75" Rear- 1.5

this is what i found off of team-integra website.

I'm surprised nobody has pulled the "BUMPSTOP" card. Did you cut them in half when you installed the new suspension? H&R Sports shouldn't be as low as you describe. Try setting the shocks at half stiff/soft when daily driving too.
