  My F23/H22 87x97mm H2B Build« » Reply  Edit

This is my little write-up of my F23/H22 build. I am building this motor for my 91' Civic HB. This car is NOT my daily driver, it is used merely for drag racing as well as some street action.

I will try and keep the thread updated as much as possible. Here's the breakdown:

CAR: 1991 Civic DX HB
ENGINE: F23A bottom end / H22A Head
TRANNY: JDM B16A S1

I am using 87mm K20 pistons and the 97mm crank which will yield 2306cc.

I am going to begin the building phase soon, I will be setting the motor in the car for mock-up before the block goes to my machinist. I will provide further information and pics later.

Patiently awaiting...

Thanks... always a good thing to plan and do your homework when building something to this extent.

MMMMM.... 55mm mains:

Picked up a complete H22A4 longblock for $200 - just had a bad crank. Here is the head:

is it safe for a piston travelling in a clockwise direction to be put into a motor working in the opposite direction?? custom cp pistons only ran me 600$ for an H22(89mm, 12.5 static cr. for 54 cc chambers)

definitely subscribed for this build up keep us posted comrade

Well, it wasnt easy but the engine is in(temporarily)! There are a few mods to the chassis I have to make before it goes in for good. I snapped a few teaser pics:

Really all depends on what you are doing... With the K20 and F23 having the same compression height it makes for a fairly simple swap. If you plan on running a high cr or high lift cams then a little more work is required with the pistons.
