More info? a story would be nice. It only vibrates when you punch in the gas? Check your mounts.

I have the lower inner and outer tie rods replaced 2 months ago, tires just mounted and balanced, still not fixed. I guess its prolly just an alignment because all ball joints are fairly new too, and my motor mounts are hasports and they've only been on for 1.5 years.story- when i first noticed it, i was accelerating in 2nd, then 3rd, and felt the worst vibrations when i accelerated into 4th, but its only from about 3-4K rpm. its really weird, above and blow that the car seems smooth. any other ideas?

its cool bro.i still havent figured it out, but i think it has to do with the engine mounts or something because I have a friend whose b-swapped eg does the same thing. anyone else have any clue, i put on brand new inner/outer tie rods, got tires balanced, and an alignment. 2 actually, still is doing it.

you said you have new axles are you sure neither is bad? I have got reman ones that got trashed in under 1000 miles and vibrated quite a bit.

no boots are ripped, and ive replaced my drivers side axle, but not my passenger side. can an axle go bad without being visibly noticeable?

yea. idk what the problem is either. front end seems tight and everything. If there is this many people having this problem, ONLY ON ACCELERATION... and a decent vibration, enough to bounce the steering wheel up and down, then theres something COMMON that happens with swaps. and it has to do with ENGINE RPM, not actual car speed... the vibration happens at the same intervals weather gettin on it in first or 3-4th. so its ENGINE related most likely. if it were drivetrain related, then it would get faster.

I to have the same issue. Front suspension seems to vibrate when I slowly roll in first gear only. It drives me nuts. Ever part on my front suspension has been changed. Anyone with a solution please post it up.

I just solved my vibrating issue on my car. It was the axles that, caused the vibrations. So, I changed my axles and car is running smooth.

i would guess at the bushings. if it's only on acceleration then it's probably a worn part like a tie rod or ball joint. i had the B16 pulley rubbing on radius arms before, not sure if it would vibrate, but worth a look. i'd consider the engine mounts too, maybe worn or bolt loosened. mine cause vibration all over the place at the right frequency.

i have brand new inner/outer tie rods and lower ball joints. my uppers are old but in good condition. mounts are all hasport and nothing is rubbing. I have no clue what it is.

i think it's our engine mounts...i bet the stock rubber bushings in jdm cars are must smoother. these motors just inherently vibrate at that certain rpm and the stiff mounts transfer it to the car

Alright had somewhat the same problem on a car and come to find out the wheel bearing was messed up...I jacked up the car and the rim and tire would move then took the rim off and the hub would move i replaced the the bearing in the hub/knuckle and so far so good that might be it check that out...

What axles did you use?If you use Integra axles, the Integra's track width is about and inch wider. The inside axle joint floats, but because of the width of the Integra, the inward play is taken up because the axle is too long for our cars. I just recently put new Raxles' Hybrid EF axles in my CRX, the vibrations are gone, and front suspension feels the way it should. Before the raxles, I had new NAPA MaxDrive axles for an Integra. The front suspension felt stiff and on medium bumps I could feel and hear a knocking sound. And it would vibrate under acceleration. It's gone now with the Raxles axles.

I got the Raxles installed, and the passenger side axle was indeed a good 1/2" to 3/4" shorter. The driver's side was visually shorter, but not by much. The front end feels great, no more 'shocks' when taking rough roads.

I got the same problem... NOW!I'm running a 1998 HX with a 1999 B16A2 Si swap... I noticed my left axle was a little loose, so I replaced it (OEM axle) with a AutoZone POS - everybody said it would be okay, yada, yada. Now I'm in the same boat as you guys! Shakes like a mutha ucker when I'm whipping it! Over on Raxles troubleshooting page it says... | Quote » | | The axle consists of three primary components. The shaft, cv joint, and the inner joint... A bent axles [sic] shaft will cause a vibration to occur in the car... Vibration or shudder during acceleration may indicate a problem with the inner joint or a bent shaft |
Hello?!?!? I guess they sold me a bent or twisted shaft! I've heard, if I return it to AutoZone, I'll probably just get another bad one. It takes a couple of hours to install these things, so I don't feel like messing around with AutoZone rejects... I guess I'll bite the bullet and call Raxles. Anybody know if HASPORT axles are any good? HASPORT Level 2.9 (475 HP) axles are about the same price as Raxles, and they're just down the street from me. The thing that bothers me about HASPORT is - the H-A-S in HASPORT stands for Honda Auto Salvage! I know this because they're a local joint... and I've driven by there a few times.

Ya know what?!?!?I was just reading my CiViC factory service manual and Honda says... When you install the new axles, you should NOT have any grease/oil on the splines! They're supposed to be DRY! LoL! I packed mine with grease! | Quote » | | (page 16-19) NOTE: Clean the areas where the drive shaft contacts the transmission (differential) thoroughly with solvent or carburetor cleaner, and dry with compressed air. |
And... | Quote » | | (same page) NOTE: Wipe off the grease before tightening the nut at the ball joint. |
Same applies to the intermediate shaft... | Quote » | | (page 16-23) NOTE: Clean the areas where the intermediate shaft contacts the transmission (differential) thoroughly with solvent or carburetor cleaner, and dry with compressed air. |
Hmmm...
I've read several places (on the web) that you shouldn't grease the ball joint stem and/or the nut, but... I've NEVER read anything about NOT greasing the splines! Au contraire, ppl will tell you to grease the splines so it will come apart easier next time. Hello?!?!? I'm wondering if this is why we're ALL having vibration problems...
