Here's me getting jacked up by VHP:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=39AN5DkeC0I
Virginia HP clocks a vehicle traveling 85mph in a 65mph zone. The (speeding) car at the beginning is a beige 2002-ish Nissan Altima. I am driving a yellow Honda S2000 that you'll see in the last image. I guess you could call it a form of "profiling" as I am the one who gets pulled over and cited for "RECKLESS DRIVING BY SPEED 85/65".
Officer didn't know that I had a webcam snapping a photo every second while driving and recorded the incident. Here it is at 3 frames per second.

Re: (wrayzor)
I've learned in the past that arguing with the cop never helps. I got a "riding on exterior of vehicle" in the past simply cause I was poking my head out the sunroof of my GTI to see what the hold-up/accident was. AFTER the FHP started writing the ticket I explained to her what I actually was doing and she admitted that she was going on someone's supposed eye-witness account of me "STANDING ON TOP OF THE ROOF" as it was moving!! LOL The sad part was that she felt bad but confessed that once they start writing on a ticket they cannot just tear it up as they much each be accounted for.
Shameful part is that I did contact an attorney that serves that area, and the old fart felt that the judge would be so stunned by the vast technology I wanted to use as evidence that he most likely wouldn't allow it. I'm still searching of course.
Anyone in the Sussex County area that can help?

There was a case a few years ago, I think it was in MA, a guy was pulled over and had a tape recorder running. He didn't tell the cop he had the recorder running however.
He went to present his evidence, and was arrested! for something like illegal taping. He actually was found guilty.

Soundstream VIR 8007 model...their website doesn't list it anymore, but they do list the VIR 8006T which is the same, but has an analog TV tuner...but that's gunna get phased out with that new-fangled digital broadcast any day now, so who cares!!
That HU was a lifesaver for a 4,500 mile trip!! I've got a real problem with falling asleep once my brain realizes it 's not needed to process much more than watching objects pass by for hours at a time. Back in college I worked at a machine shop and had the proud task of de-burring the rough edges of metal plates after being machined. Even with the owner of the company standing 10' away from me watching, I would fall asleep while standing up doing my job. It was quite interesting to have your entire body collapse and then wake right back up in time to catch myself for 10 seconds then happen all over again!!
I watched every episode of every season of Chappelle Show, plus the outtakes and such. Also watched War Games from circa 1984. And by watched, I mean "listened to as I drove" of course. Since I've seen these before, I simply recall what would be on the screen as I hear it.
Damn I got off topic!! Anyway, the HU has the following things that I can say about it:
+3.6" screen, 16:9 ratio
+REALLY good sound (quality built-in amp) without needing additional amps
+Plays DVD's, SD cards (MUST be basic SD cards up to 2gb, no "Ultra II or III cards)
+Simple to setup and tune
+Matches my Moto RAZR phone
+Has 4 preset angles to tilt to, can be set custom I believe but haven't needed to because the screen does have a wide range of viewing angles without looking distorted
+Back-up camera input, source video/audio input, video/audio output. Also a special USB cable to allow USB drives to plug in.
~~~
-Simple menus appear to have been designed by a child in about 3 minutes...lacking features bigtime
-Takes roughly 30 seconds or more to load a DVD to play
-SD card loading isn't too slow, but compatibility may be an issue and the menus are even worse for file selection.
-------------------------------------
UPDATE ON THE ATTORNEY SITUATION:
Recently spoke with one who feels that he could get it dismissed once the EVIDENCE IS SHOWN!!
Wow....now that would be lame. However, since an attorney is going to represent me, and I' won't be in Virginia as I'm in Florida, I can't imagine the worst being a warrant issued, and I can't see them extricating me to their state for this.
If you think about it, the guy was guilty of recording the conversation without knowledge or consent. In my case, I wouldn't have needed that because he was never filmed. I simply have a video of my vehicle driving the legal speed and shows someone else passing me at approximately the 85mph that I was charged with, which is my statement that I was not speeding. Simple as that.
I highly doubt that , public place you can video tape whatever you want.
Otherwise paparazzi would be busted daily.
Im glad you got that on tape, Im currently fighting a ticket too.
Disordely conduct with a MV. High rate of acceleration.
Considering my car was rev limited at 5500 and I live 4 houses from the stop sign, I highly doubt I was acceleration fast
But this was in your S2000? Even still, our cars look so damn fast that we'll get tickets standing still.
Yes in my s2000.
Check out the 28 page thread on s2ki about people getting messed with just because the car looks fast.
I'm with you 100% midwest, but he is actually telling the truth with regards to a handful of (hopefully) isolated incidents. It's a terrible abuse of power and hopefully a federal judge will eventually slap the &*$* out of everyone involved in these cases.
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">A man has been charged in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with filming police officers during a routine traffic stop and faces up to seven years in prison for "wiretapping".
Brian D. Kelly is charged under a state law that bars the intentional interception or recording of anyone's oral conversation without their consent, reports the Patriot News.
The criminal case relates to the sound, not the pictures, that his camera picked up. </TD></TR></TABLE>
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> Furthermore, just last month a 48-year-old man from Dover, New Hampshire was arrested for "wiretapping" for allegedly recording police while they were investigating him for driving while intoxicated.
In addition we have previously covered stories where camera crews have been threatened with arrest for filming peaceful demonstrations, and where cops have been caught stealing protestor's cameras.
Filming in public is a right every American citizen has under the first amendment,</TD></TR></TABLE>
man...that's nuts!! I still think I'd be safe because I was simply filming myself. The officer is never in my footage at all, so I can't see how they could possibly stretch the BS of the law into saying I was "wiretapping" or something of the sort. wow
You wouldn't have happened to have a "run"-in with a blue Mazda RX-7 on the 5th would you? I was on my way home from Maryland and I played around with a yellow S2000 with wheels and exhaust from what I could see.
I've been really luck **KNOCK ON WOOD** but, from everything I have heard VA troopers are ******** of the first order. I got pulled by one, told him it was ******* bullshit and backed up my case and he gave me a couple of empty threats and left.
But they ticket anyone they can for what ever they can get you on. Good luck with that, I hope the judge admits the recording into evidence. Could you send me a pic of the set up you have for your lap top?? I have a tablet that I've been trying to figure a way to mount. Thanks in advanced.
AND GOOD LUCK!
I want updates with the results. It's incidents like this that make people lose trust in police. Thank God you have it on camera. If you get fined we should turn this **** into a "Jena 6"-type protest. You might be on national news in a couple weeks!
Yah. In the case I was referencing, it was a tape recorder (I guess the cop was a real ***. Imagine that.).
I was stunned that the prosecutor brought charges against the guy and won.
But, maybe your state is different. Spend a $100 talking to an attorney. It's worth it.
I agree...but our fearless leader feels that he doesn't need a warrant to wiretap any individual in this country.
