  IA '08: Midwest Caravan« » Reply  Edit

Alright folks, here's the layout for the Journey, if you would like to participate/join in, please let me know by posting here. I'll keep a tab of how many people are showing at each checkpoint, so as not to lose anyone.

<( Here's a fantastic video, edited by one of the guys on the caravan last year: Link )>

IA '08 will take place on July 26th and 27th, so we will set course the Friday before, aka. July 25th. As in IA '07, we'll head to the location, so everyone knows where we are headed, then we'll part ways to our respective hotels/meeting points. The Nashville Super Speedway is roughly 15 miles South East of downtown Nashville, near Smyrna. So, mark your calenders, tattoo your wrist, and do whatever it takes to make sure you're set to go this time around.

[NOTE: Make sure to look at the times closely. There is a time zone change mid-way through the journey.] (CST = -5 GMT during the Summer)

Import Alliance '08 (Main thread)
Import Alliance '08 (Website)

Entire Journey (automatically set to print): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&pw=2

Checkpoint #1: Highway 94 and College Avenue (Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
- Arrival Time: 07:00 AM (CST) Friday, July 25th
- Departure Time: 07:30 AM (CST)
We'll be stopping at the WESTERN Park & Ride (opposite side of the highway compared to the Airport).

Wikimapia of area: http://wikimapia.org/#y=429289...h&v=2

Journey Section 1 Directions (automatically set to print): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&pw=2

Checkpoint #2: Highway 65 Rest/Welcome Center (Merrillville, Indiana)
- Arrival Time: 10:30 AM (CST)
- Departure Time: 11:00 AM (CST)
We'll be stopping at the Rest/Welcome Center right off of Highway 65, on the WEST side of the Highway.

Wikimapia of area: http://wikimapia.org/#y=411668...h&v=2

Journey Section 2 Directions (automatically set to print): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&pw=2

Checkpoint #3: Chapeze Ln/Welcome Center (Shepherdsville, Kentucky)
- Arrival Time: 03:15 PM
- Departure Time: 04:00 PM
We'll be stopping at the Rest/Welcome Center right off of Highway 65, on the WEST side of the Highway.

Wikimapia of area: http://wikimapia.org/#y=379464...h&v=2

Journey Section 3 Directions (automatically set to print): http://maps.google.com/maps?f=...&pw=2

Final Arrive Time at Nashville Super Speedway: 8:00 PM (CST)

PLEASE NOTE: From the experience gained from IA '07, I believe it is safe to assume that these times are fairly accurate. I know that not everyone will be able to pit stop at the same mileage, so feel free to drop off when necessary. I set it with 3 checkpoints for a reason. It gives a chance for those with more thirsty engines, a chance to catch breath and keep up. Feel free to throw in ideas that are worth noting, at me. I'm up for suggestion.

Hehe, I think your car is just fine. You just need to figure out what to do with that s/c you have lying around.

For the most part, that sums up my intentions. I would like to bring something new to the field, as always.

The Marketplace here on H-T will probably yield a buyer pretty quickly.
