I checked several sites but found no 1992 NSX. I did see a few 1993+. Check outhttp://www.goo-net.com/index.html Maybe wait till next year? BTW, I hope your bro's got enough cash as type-r is premium and even the 1993 ones are going for ~60-70k $US.

That depends on the production date and we can't wait it out. The import law in Canada is about to change from 15 to 25 years, thats why our time is limited. Thanks for the site "AK". If he can't get an R in time, there are some non-R's on there that he loves, for much better prices that you can get a stock one for locally

check this out, look at the bottom part.http://www.wintel.co.jp/macs/about/color.html According to this list, TYPE-R were produced starting 1993. I am assuming it came out late 1992 as a 1993 model, thus no 1992 TYpe-R existence. Learned something new today

Hmmmm. Weird. I've seen other sites that say 483 were made between 92-95 and then discontinued for a few years

That would make the most sense. I know 91's were sold in the waning months of 90.

Hmmmm. Well the rule in Canada is a car can be imported if its 15 years old, so people just go for 92's. I wonder if he could get a 93 with a production date of 1992. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the help guys. Good to know not everybody on H-T is a dick. Just have to hang out in the NSX and ITR forums. LOL

I guess it's not that time of the month for Ponyboy yet btw, why can't u just import a 93 then register it next year? won't they even allow your shipment?

Because the car has to be in your name before the law changes. We thought we had a great idea, looked into that, and nadda

This may be where you saw the NSX-R '92 reference: http://world.honda.com/NSX/history/ And Wikipedia lists NA1 NSX-R production as totaling 483: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_NSX

Got my info from both of those sites. I can't find anything that says the cars built in 92 were branded as 93's, but Im starting to think thats what is happening. We'll just have to track down a 93 with a 92 production date. When we do, you guys will be the first to know and see it

You aren't missing anything. You can get them into the country, you just can't register them. He brought them here because he had buyers for them in the U.S

Hey A-Rogue, I'd be interested in porting some vehicles over here, I don't care if they are registered. I've been looking into this for some time, and Canada seems like the way to go! In the US you can't import a car unless you're going to register it (and conform to standards), race it/display it and destroy it, or temporary use it and export it.I heard in Canada you can bring a whole car in as parts. Can you hook me up with the contact info for you buddy or shine some light on this for me? Thanks

The NSX-R's were going for crazy money. Our guy in Japan said that there were guys from the middle east buying up all the high end cars at CRAZY prices. So, he had a non-R, ready to close the deal and come over, and just before that happened, the place he was working for went out of business out of knowhere, and the owner didn't pay the employees a bunch of money he owed them. Soooo, JDM NSX is off. He's just going to turbo his prelude instead and then save some money. We did learn a lesson out of all this though. People are [freak]in ghey
