Find yourself a dirty hobo to clean them up for you. They don't charge much. A case of cheap scotch should get you a set bright enough to blind the sun.

Alright. Got them 98.8% stripped of paint today. Damn these engineers @ Yokohama know how to paint a wheel.....lol i swear there was well over 5 layers of paint.

Now comes the fun. I started sanding, but i feel that maybe im spending too much time and effort just getting them roughed out. I've started off using 320. Is that too high? Should i move down to a 280, or lower yet 220? Example is shown in picture below.
An Idea of how rough they are to begin with.

yes and i even started in the 100's ... this is how i did it and it still came out good. 120>320>600>800>1000>1500>2000 for a high luster shine, u can do it the traditional way and go 120,220,320,400,600,800,1000 and so on all the way up past 2000 if u would want

nice i went as low as an 80 grit pad, on my mouse without any water, to remove the curbs from an old pos set of wheels.just got to make sure you get rid of all the previous grit's scratches before moving up. you gonna polish between the spokes also?

you'll have to wait and see. I'm just making up my mind on things as i go along. When i first got them i couldnt decide if i should've painted them, full polish, or leave them alone. now that i've got some work into them, i'm getting a clearer idea of how they will end up.

see all those little tidbits of sandpaper.......yeah about 10 hours of time and sandpaper running up in grit numbers from 100 to 1500 till i could see my reflection in them. | Quote, originally posted by speedstarracing » | | what is that thing in your tire? |
i have no clue. It was a 1/3 of an inch in diameter, and about 1 inch long. Looked like a rivet or something.
