FAQ: Lower Control Arm Socket« » Reply  Edit

Well, unfortunately Honda used a special bolt on the Lower Control Arm, where it is mounted to the Trailing Arm. It's a 10-spline bolt that requires a custom socket to remove/install. Fortunately, I've come across a manufacturer of the socket, and it's relatively cheap.

http://www.specprod.com/
1. Click "Buy it Now" on the top of the screen.
2. Click "Buy it from us" on the drop down menu.
3. Enter "69330" in the search box on the left with "Description" clicked.
4. Buy away.

I should make my posts about important things more easily searchable, so stuff doesnt become an FAQ.
That one is cheaper than the one i found, iirc.

PS. If you ever need to remove them, dont need the bolts, and dont have the socket, ie if youre getting lcas from a junk yard, you can hammer on cheap standard sockets over the bolts, and remove them like that. 1 socket per bolt, as it ruins the socket as well. Gotta love lifetime warranties.

Gotta love it when you need "special tools" to work on a car. I know a few of the GM cars I have owed had stupid stuff like that.

I doubt it. You might have a whole set of 12-spline sockets, but I highly doubt you have one 10-spline socket. Considering 4 Acura dealerships and 3 Honda dealerships in Wisconsin don't have them, nor carry them, I'm going on a limb saying that you don't.

That's because they are for the rear.
