Brake booster interchange?
Ok, first off... I've been reading about every brake swap ever imagined for about the past 2 hours @.@
I know that the 91 EX brake MC (15/16) will directly bolt onto my 89 CRX Si booster. I know this because i used to have one on my car and I didn't like the increased pedal effort with the stock booster. I'm sure you know already, the stock MC for the CRX is 13/16.
Without going into too much debating about brakes, I still have a couple questions tho:
1. The 91 EX brake booster is larger than the stock 89 CRX Si booster, right?
2. Will the 91 EX brake BOOSTER bolt directly onto my 89 CRX Si?
(assuming I can bend the harlines to fit the new position)
3. If using the stock MC (13/16) with the larger booster from the 91 EX, would the pedal effort feel absolutely too soft/spongy?
Yes, I realize that this combination will not actually increase braking performance...please don't go there. lol.
I am making an effort to lessen the pedal effort slightly in the rex. It's daily driven and it always has had a bit stiffer pedal feel than I'd like.
Thank you!

Re: (timcrxsi)
just installed a 91 ex and mc. i swear i am the only one on this website who has done it.
1. yes, the si booster is 8" and the EX is 9"
2.yes, and you will not need to bend any lines. because its bigger its a little tricky to get in. just move the wiring harness on the shock tower out of the way and be patient. the other trick part is knowing how far to thread the part that connects to the peddle.
3. im not sure on this one. i know it will bolt up. i would just think it would take very little pedal effort to stop. i guess you could try it and if its too aggresive replace the mc with an EX master cylinder.
i have everything bolted up but i didn't have time to bleed my brakes so i don't know how it performs. i did just have the hf (7") booster with the EX mc. now that took alot of pedal effort! hopefully the giant Ex will solve the problem

Re: (littlecrxVTEC)
ya that booster/MC combo sucked.
2.i don't think it matters but i would guess manual
3. there was no AWD EX, your thinking about the wagovan. the EX is just the four door sedan.
