you need spacers to put those wheels on a USDM rsx.

It shouldn't rub without the spacers on the car. It'll just look funny with the wheels really tucked in. Anyways, the correct spacer I believe is 15mm for the USDM RSX's.

A 15mm spacer really needs extended lug bolts too for everything to be safe. 15mm is a considerable amount.Research pays off.

Is that all you're gonna tell him? research, research... The rims should fit properly, as in they shouldn't rub.
With the 15mm spacers (H&R is what a lot of people have) you'll have zero problems. My friend did that, worked out fine, now he's got the brembo conversion with the suspension too, so the spacers aren't needed anymore. Spacers are more or less $60 for good ones.

With 15mm spacers, how many turns of an OEM lugnut does he get before it seats? Again, 15mm spacers are a considerable amount. I'm not going to tell him anymore because putting such a large spacer on could be dangerous. Just because someone does it does not mean it is safe.

I know what you mean, but that's what it takes. And people have been doing this for years, if it wans't safe something would have happened by now. (Just an assumption) Also, the BEST thing to do, is the WHOLE conversion, brakes, suspension, sway bar and wheels. Then you have nothing to worry about

Offset on the USDM RSX (base and Type-S; and the EP3, for that matter) is +45. The offset for the DC5-R is +60.People run the DC5-R wheels for two reasons: style, and as the best fitting rim over the DC5-R Brembo brakes. Personally, I'd go the whole way and use them with the brake conversion.

just because things have been used for years does not mean it is safe. Asbestos for example. Hydrogenated oil is another.
California Residents: if anyone is looking to get a quote from Farmers, let me know. i personally know a farmers agent that will do all she can to lower your rates. my insurance with state farm was 4200 a year with a clean record for a 2006 rsx type-s and a 15/30/15 liability. Now it is 2200 a year with 100/300/100 liability with everything else at the same coverage and i also have life insurance, which is covered under the 2200.edit: it's now 1600 a year.

Okay so I bought the DC5R wheels and I know I need spacers before I bought the wheels...but I am having a hard time trying to find H&R 15mm spacers. They don't have to be H&R spacers thats just what I prefer. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance!

You dont NEED spacers but they sit much better with them.And you definitely dont need extended studs with them at all, Im not sure why someone said you do. Get some H&R 25mm spacers, they will fit great and have a sexy stance. You wont be disappointed.

That would mean you would have to have 15mm spacers to have your car have the Type R stance.....Why would you get 25mm?

i shaved a lil off the lower control arm and it fits with no problem....ive had the wheels for about a year now and theres no problem....

you don't need to have 25mm spacers, 15mm is fine...really i wouldn't do it for an "aggressive" look because you really wouldn't be aggressive running 17x7 anyways...it just causes more stress on the wheel bearings.

Man everytime i read this thread i get more confused. First you should get 15 mm spacers but according to todd they kill oem lug nuts and shouldnt get spacers at least 15mm cause thats too much. So that would mean get extended lugs right? Then others say get 25 mm spacers...im confused. Maybe its best just to buy the whole suspension off jdmland.com that includes the rims for a lil ova 3k(very expensive though and rather not have to when i look to buy these rims)

The offset for the type r is +60, the usdm rsx is +45 making a difference of 15. I am buying the H&R DRS 15mm spacers. They come with extended lugs.
