Wow. </TD></TR></TABLE>
The people have spoken with their money. Sadly, reality is that people do not want to pay for quality, and with everything Comptech sells being more expensive than a competing brand, it would be very hard for them to continue even if they continued producing new products.
That said, I loves me my Comptech rear swaybar and subframe reinforcement. I was a bit disappointed to find that the Comptech brake lines were rebranded Goodridge lines, but they've still been a nice modification to the car.

Goodridge is a top notch product supplying to many WRC teams, JGTC teams etc. Many company/brands have chosen Goodridge as their partner to OEM the brakelines from Goodridge to be branded under their brands. So it is no suprise if Comptech choses one of the best brakeline company Goodridge to make for them to ensure Comptech supplies the best brake lines to their customers.

I dont think they are going to advertise the fact that they are going under, as they still have a lot of stock to move.

And I had been holding out on getting an intake for my 06 Si because Nate told me the Comptech Icebox would be out soon...
Oh well, I can always wait for ARC
At least I already have a Comptech Icebox and Comptech Sway/Tie for my EK. I would hate to have to search for it in the future and pay double like when Benen went under, haha

This is the sad truth and it makes me throw up a little in my mouth to think that there are that many idiots in the world that think this way.

you guys are pointing the wrong finger . its companies like aspec and omni that put companies like this out of buisness . i really dont think the jdm crowd has anything to do with it. comptech never catered to that demographic.....

Re:
I think that sadly the writing has been on the wall for awhile now. Just no one really wanted to believe it. They used to build/have contracts for a lot of big motor sports teams. They used to build the Tri-point motor's along with IRL (im not 100% sure on this), and many others, but those contracts haven't been around for awhile.

That is true to some extent, but Omni and ASpec cater to the people that want the JDM look with the TDM price (TDM= TaiwaneseDomesticMarket). Stupid anodized pieces of ****, this makes me mad.

its a true crying shame it really is . comptech was always very respected.

Sad to hear. I wanted to get a comptech header for my car some day. Atleast I was able to get the sway bar/tie bar combo. I love that piece. To bad too. They're one of my favorite companies. It shouldn't matter whether a part's made in Japan, America or Europe as long as it's quality. It's a shame that most people forget that when buying stuff for their car.

Re: Comptech USA Closing? (Ponyboy)
I had a Comptech blower on my S2000 for 5 years and never had a single issue w/ the car. Local dealers wouldn't even raise an eyebrow when I would bring the car in for service or warranty work since it was a Comptech branded product. That was awesome

I'm not discounting what you said, but I think that the JDM craze is just as responsible. Sure JDM isn't what it was 5 or 6 years ago but I'm sure there are just as many guys who will buy an expensive Japanese part before an expensive American part for it's exotic quality, as there are guys who will buy a cheaper American product over its more expensive American counterpart.
Mark, just out of curiosity, how many Comptech parts are you rocking currently?
Regardless it is incredibly depressing to see arguably the most prolific and influential American Honda/Acura racing development group. Those guys pioneered our entire community and industry.

i dont have too much comptech anymore , just the sway tie combo but i had their itr race exhaust on my civic , the icebox when i didnt have itb's etc.
you are right i guess ...but it seems like i saw comptech products and the name all over cars at the track , i never once got the impression they were doing poorly...
