FA1/FG Sedan/Coupe Exhuast Differences...
Hello all,
I'm considering slapping an axle-back exhaust on my 2007 FA1 1.8 LX Sedan. Tanabe offers one (I believe they call it the G series or something to that extent). When I called Tanabe, they couldn't tell me if the sedan and the coupe exhaust rear sections are the same. Does anyone know off hand?
Also, what about the differences in the rear sections between the 1.8/2.0(Si)? I assume the Si uses larger diameter piping, but are the flanges in the same place and the same size? How about hangers? In short - will it physically bolt up?
I know it's trivial, but it saves me having to lay under cars at the dealership with a tape measure and calipers to figure it out.

Post is visible.
The axle back will be fine. the catbacks are not able to be used from ex to si or vice versa.

So that means any axle back kit, coup/sedan, Si/EX/LX, will work on any other 8th gen car. Great.
Next question - I know from looking around on the forum that the HFP axle back kit is claiming no significant power-gains at all. I also know the cat-back magnaflow kits are claiming an approx. 5HP gain.... So...
Is the HFP muffler just restrictive, or will all of the axle-back kits generally not yield a gain? Is the restriction in the tubing between the cat & the muffler, or the muffler itself?

Exhaust between r18 and k20 are different. Si muffler on an EX isn't possible as far as I know. Si coupe to Si sedan the rear sections are the same, not sure about other trims coupe to sedan differences, but I imagine they would be the same rear sections as well.
Not that I can say this is true. But on king motorsports http://www.kingmotorsports.com...at=64, mugen claims an 8whp gain on an axle back. So there has to be a bit of restriction in just the stock muffler.
