What I learned from my recent suspension swap ... all are differences between to the Type S and Type R that you haven't mentioned in your list thus far.

aluminum front control arms, front/rear sways, front/rear hubs, outer axles, front/rear rotors, 17x7 rim w/ 60mm offset, spring rates

I believe the Type R has a wider stance than that of the Type S (wider track) ... I noticed a significant increase in front and rear track with my new setup.

From the research that I've done, it doesnt seem like there are any differences in the actual shell and frame.

Do you have pictures of your Type R?

I love that car, I couldn't find a clean one though, so I got the Type S instead.

yeah search some of my posts. you will find some pics here and there.

I had an RSX-S too as a daily/fun car in addition to the ITR, but after my RSX was stolen, I did not want to buy another.

intake manifold is different, cams are different (though the 05-06 type s has itr cams), exhaust manifold is 4-2-1 on the type r as opposed to 4-1 on the type s,

The TypeS also has a 4-2-1 setup (the large secondary pipe has a divider running down the middle of it and keeps the exhaust in two streams, but does not allow as much cooling to happen for faster cat light-off and reduced emissions.).

The TypeR chassis does have some differences. It does not have a sunroof, the rear seat bracing is aluminum instead of steel and there is a rear bar that ties the rear shock towers together.

I once heard that the hood for a TypeR was aluminum, but have not ever confirmed it.

To be fair, no amount of conversion is going to get you a Type-R. That's the whole point, you can put every once of a type-R into your DC5, and it won't be the same. There are parts you can't even imagine, and it's something until you ride in one, you won't believe me.

I'm not saying you shouldn't try for better parts, but you shouldn't have a false impression that throwing a lip kit, engine, and new suspension/axle/brembos is going to equal a type-R.

On the other hand there are aftermarket parts which out do a type-R. If you're going for type-R bliss without the knowledge, you'll always and forever be disappointed, if you just want to max your car's potential, you'll get over the hype and start building.

You may have all the best intentions, and it's not a bad idea for the thread, but I just hate kids who call their USDM vehicles type-R without the respect it deserves. It's a beautiful car and I don't like to see the name tarnished.
