"Skunk2 Fit R" on Street Tuner Challenge! Build Pics
Skunk2 invades your television! Earlier this year Skunk2 was challenged by Honda to take a Honda Fit and modify it to compete on Speed Channel's Street Tuner Challenge. We accepted and a monster was born to take on a Mustang and GTI. Watch our video of the build and see the program schedule for Speed Channel below. Don't forget to tune in to see if our little monster ate the competition!

Front mount intake? You mean intercooler? I hope they make that rear disc brake conversion available for sale.

Turbo specs?
Power / torque output before and after?
Widen the front and not the rear.
Engine management used to tune?
What are those harnesses mounted to? Is there rollover protection?
That's what I'm interested in...

Makes sense on an FF car. Better balance. A ton of circuit-driven Hondas in Japan run 16" 215mm tires up front w/ 15" 195mm tires out back.
Sure, it's part show car, so the full set of flares would look better, but for creating better balance, it would seem to help (at face value).

What exactly do you mean by "better balance" ?
That does nothing for weight distribution. Unless it's wind tunnel tested then I doubt there is any proven difference; good or bad.
But, if there is something out there to explain it, I would be interested in reading it.

You've clearly never driven on a track before, or you would understand the concepts that are being explained to you. That being the case, why are you making an *** out of yourself by second guessing those that have experience on the track and know what they're doing?

I've never had to widen the front of my S2000 to balance it on the track.
You are the *** in the situation, not me. I came here looking for information, not to call people out and call them stupid.

Well, then you don't seem to pay attention to why things work the way they do.

FWIW, the front end of FWD cars is most often widened strictly to stuff more rubber under the fenders. Nothing more, nothing less. This is the only reason cars should ever be widened IMHO.
Being a S2000 owner, I would think you would already be familiar with a lack of space for rubber under the fenders. The fenders need some work to fit wide tyres all the way around.

For the record, this comment is the only reason I replied to this thread:

You just jumped in and commented as if the widen front track was for aesthetics. This is what made me assume you were another Appearance/Cosmetic idiot. I apologize if that is not the case.

So true. Front or rear, if you want decent meat under it you need spacers and/or rolled fenders.

My thought was incomplete. I just hate when I see a car with a purpose ruined by some useless widebody kit.
Apology accepted.

You've already been jumped on, I'm merely clarifying my point.
I was referring to handling balance. Simplest way to get a car to stop understeering (especially an FF, where they are prone to do this) is to put wider rubber up front. Do this along with nicely tuned shocks/springs/sways and you have a car that is well-balanced.
No issue w/ balance in an S2K--they're pretty much perfect from the factory. If you wanted it to oversteer more at the limit, wider front rubber would help that happen.
The tire combo I reffered to earlier in the thread was/is commonly seen on DC2's and EK's in Japan. They don't really think like that here.
Nothing to do w/ weight.

Thanks for the clarification, gamby.
So does anyone know of the turbo specs that they put on this Fit?

Since all the episodes haven't aired, some of the questions must go unanswered. Hondata helped us tune the car. The front & rear were widened for aesthetic and performance reasons. There is no roll cage in the car.
