Default engine sounds like a pissed off lawnmower

alright. so after i had my previous problem i talked to a mechanic and he said dizzy. so i got a new dizzy and new plugs. put them in and it started up. only problem was it sounds like a pissed off lawnmower. it wont rev past 3 grand. and i kant figure it out. then it started to slowly die down. and then like grumbled at me then kept running. the grumbled agn and kept going. and it kept doing this untill it finally said expletive it and shut down. then i couldnt start it back up again. the plugs are covered in carbon... which happens to al my plugs. bosch+2 bosch super, bosch premium. any of them. i think im gonna get some denso's. but im pissed. any help.

did you put the distributor in the sam position the last one was? your timing can be off.

^^^^ I agree with this guy. Use a timing gun to check your timing out. Because it it starts, sputters, and then "re-revs" and keeps doing that, then its more than likely either jumped time, or wasnt set right to begin with anyways.

But then again, those are symptoms of my timing belt breaking too, so I am not for sure. Just pop the valve cover to be sure though.

Save yourself the money. If you are unsure of the problem getting denso's isn't the solution. Get NGK coppers. They work great.

I once had a car when it sounded like a 'pissed off lawnmower' it meant that it was only firing on 3 cylinders. Could be your case. Perhaps a lead not properly secured or grounding out. Did you use Dielectric grease when putting in your plugs?

Cheers.

I didn't say anything about your grounds. I said check your spark plug leads, make sure they are on their tight and well.

Sounds like your order is out of whack. Or, best case scenario, you're running on 3 cylinders!

Ok, Chubby, how's this? Coming from the kid that flipped his Chevy Cobalt (see pic of red car) while delivering for Pizza Hut and then you go and get this piece of turd .

My question is this: why the **** did you join honda-tech? No, seriously, why are you here? Why not join ford-tech.com or fuckus-tech.com
GTFO!

LMFAO!!! calm down kid. i was joking. i joined because i OWN a honda civic also.(which btw did come with a shitty exhaust)

and on the cobalt - yes my job at the time was delivery , no it was not while i was on the job, and no, it was not me driving it either.

secondly, where do you come off saying a focus is any worse than your car? do you have one?

and how do you magically know so much about me

ok, dont call me chubby, kid. i didnt start posting pictures up of peoples cars and then talking crap about those people. i made a joke, which obviously you are too immature to understand. therefor you are a child.

also, search for my thread , and you will see the civic.

i never said either car was better. i'm saying you wouldnt know, if you dont have both.

4. yeah sure

Wow, I never knew Honda owners were so insecure with their cars. And yes, I work on a Ford and a Honda. Hell, I'm the only Ford on my racing team.

No back to the issue at hand. It could be your timing is off, or you might have plugs that are not within your HP range. I knowon a few cars that you need to go a few steps colder when you change your HP output.

alright well i got it back from the shop. the timing belt was stretched to hell. so i got that redone. and the only cel was my air intake(short ram). umm otehr than that. the only problem is. the engine gets really hot. could this be because it was sitting around in a salvage yard for so long and is burning off old oil? or what. because the part of the plug wire that stick in the head. melted. and part of it meleted to my plugs. i need to know if thats because lack of oil, coolant, or just the old oil getting really hot.

well the engine "grumbling" or shuddering at you and then shutting down def. sounds like my car when my timing belt jumped a few teeth after installing a new cam. and besides that get those bosch plugs out of that car
