  engine bay shaving/wire tuck« » Reply  Edit

ive came across a few nice civics with the engine bay shaved and the wiring tucked as well as the brake lines so i decided im gonna give it a shot i started yesterday by ripping the motor out. and today i took the dash, heater core, blower motor, and the SRS unit with SRS wiring harness because i no longer need any of that crap. so on with the pictures.

A couple shots of my b18c, it has a blown head gasket and im getting a JSR intake manifold for it so i figured i will just strip it down to make things easier

Notice all the oil under the head

and some shots of the bay

and some interior shots before the blower and heater core are removed

here is a shot after the heater core and blower are out.. look at all that room :thumbs up

heres a plan of attack i have for the car.

Custom Turbo kit
Oil catch can with breather and dual braided AN lines
Re-do brake lines in braided AN lines
Relocate Proportioning valve
Relocate battery behind bumper support
Relocate under hood fuse box behind fire wall
Weld all unwanted holes shut and smoothed out
Power steering lines in braided AN
Inline fuel filter and again more braided line
AEM high volume fuel rail
Tuck headlight wiring
Tuck Engine harness
Skunk2 intake manifold
Ignited engine START button
Climate control block off plate
and prolly some other stuff i cant think of right now.

UPDATE

Tore down the passenger side i removed all the wiring harness and pulled back through the fire wall along with all the little brackets and misc shit

I also removed the brake booster, both brake and clutch master cyl., brake
proportioning valve, 90% of the brake lines, and the fuel filter.

and here is a couple snaps of the current state of my interior

tomororw im gonna start tearing down the drivers side and prolly finish removing the rest of the brake lines and misc crap on the fire wall so i can start the shaving process. stay tuned. :D

UPDATE!!

the engine bay is stripped clean of all parts. me and my friend started welding some holes shut as pictured below. i prolly wont be able to work on it till like friday ish so i will update then. enjoy the photography with my new camera.

We had to do small tacks so it would burn through or distort the metal but i still have to clean them up with thte grinder. when im done it will look as if it never exsisted

i still have some holes to fill in but it was about 30 degrees today so i took a break
