HOW TO CLEAN RECAROS SEATS ( ALCANTRA)
I RECENTLY PURCHASED SOME JDM RED RECAROS AND WHEN I OPENED THE PACKAGE I SAW THAT THE SEATS NEED TO BE CLEANED. SO NOW HOW DO I GO ABOUT ON CLEANING THEM TO BASICALLY MAKE THEM NEW AGAIN. IS THERE A SPECIAL PRODUCT I COULD BUY JUST FOR THOSE SEATS??? THIS MIGHT BE A STUPID POST BUT IT DOESNT HURT TO ASK. MY CAR IS MINT AND THESE SEATS NEED TO BE CLEANED...

Here is a link to the PDF file describing maintenance of Alcantara (taken directly from the Alcantara website): http://www.alcantara.it/istitu...e.pdf

Re: HOW TO CLEAN RECAROS SEATS (.D2)
read that .pdf file that padawan linked you to. basically, cleaning directions directly from the maker of the material.
step 1:
vacuum the entire seat to get rid of any loose dirt from seat surfaces.
step 2:
if you have microfiber towels, or any other clean towel for that matter, get them nice and damp. wipe down the entire surface of the seats. rinse the towels and repeat.
step 3:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by .D2 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">diluted woolite</TD></TR></TABLE> <--
next, make some "diluted woolite" --> 1 part woolite, 6 parts water. basically a woolite water solution. spray onto seat at portions at a time and lightly wipe with towel until seat becomes slightly "lathered". you'll know then that the soap is doing its deed. get another clean damp towel and wipe off the soap and dirt. repeat for the entire seat.
step 4:
let it dry for 24 hours.
here's another link to your very question as well.

good luck...

Re: HOW TO CLEAN RECAROS SEATS ( ALCANTRA)
Thanks guys.
Got a yellow ITR and needed to clean the seats a little bit. I bumped on this link and I thought I would bump it up too for all those with dirty Recaros..

Re: HOW TO CLEAN RECAROS SEATS ( ALCANTRA)
used this solution on my CDM '01 reds...
buy a jug of woolite fabric detergent, buy a shop vac (i bought it, used it, then returned it @ Wal-Mart), bucket with 4L of warm water, a few rags.
put a full cup of Woolite detergent into the 4L of warm water, have a rag in the bucket, do sections at a time with the rag, make sure there is soap sud, start scrubbing (not too hard though, if the seats are decent), then once your done scrubbing, shop vac the water out. dont let it sit too long and dont do it in the sunlight. have fun
my seats came out like new, and drivers bolster was ****ed up, all shiny
