Default SS Autochrome Manifold

I have recently Purchased one for my h22a motor. I have NO problems with it. But we have done some minor fabbing to ensure it does not crack.

Anyone have any dislikes about the manifolds?

Bracing it will not do anything but add increased stress to certain areas.

Why? Thermal expansion and distributing the loads (theoretically) from 1 dimension into 3. You do your homework from there.

I heard they crack even after adding supports. What kind of support did you added to the manifold? Any pictures?

I Dunno what you guys are talking about but i can Stand on my manifold and have no problems. My boys h22a coupe had it but the brackets broke. and the manifold cracked from the flange (the Head side). I dunno I thought that was the only problem

yes, you will have boost creep. what you would need to do is cut the wastegate pipe and weld a slightly larger one on and give it a better angle.

the 570whp civic had real bad boost creep on the dyno until it was modified. the manifold cracked numerous times too will be getting a better one soon...used it for about 8 months now...

10.80@140mph slipping in 2nd and a tad bit in 3rd with this manifold on a B18C1 and 24.5x8x13

:pps...pics up now::

Ive been running this manifold for a month or so now. No problems whatsoever!

I braced the runners, the WG flange and spent one full day! Boreing out the inside collectors, and most definately bore out the WG runners! Just Dremel it and cleaned it out a bit.

No Boost creeeps at all! steady 7psi! No Cracks, no nothing! I love it. -

Heres a glimpse, when i was workin on it.

HAHAHA...thats almost the same kind of bracing we fabracated on! it'll be fine, but after a couple weeks it will crack still

its good if you are on a budget or are saving for a better one. goodl luck to you!

i Actually been driving with over a month now. Still see no signs of wear or tear. -=P

What more do you want from this mani. Really..

Its been welded inside and out.
Its been re surfaced on the head flange, to ensure a flat surface...
Material is like any other!? Steel is steel....

Overall, i give it a thumbs up!

not much...but all i'm saying is 1 month isnt really long enough. We had it for 8 months and it started cracking after 4-5 months of use.

if yours dont crack thats great news!

not trying to put down the manifold or anything....its just my experience with the manifold.

Yea, I understand.

Thats the only reason i bought this manifold also. Just to try it out and see how it goes, nothing more. -=P Seems to run good so far, hopefully..

Actually I know another Teg in town, running the older manifold, which comes with no brace! and hes been running his for quite some time now (over a year?)... and no problems there also..

Hmm.....
I expect to have a damn manifold that will last more than a couple months and not have to do a DAMN thing to it in order to appease myself that it will work..

1.Rev-Hard (even Iron tubular)
2.Inline Pro
3.Full-Race (Though a bit pricey)
4.Love-Fab
5.Hytech

6.A welder who knows his metalurgy and can do a decent job w/ quality materials and measurements.

All of the above manifolds will crack eventually if the turbo isn't properly supported.

You shouldn't brace the SSAC manifold, you should support the exhaust and turbo.

creeps really badly with 2.5 inch downpipe and a good amount of exhaust flow.

15 months now, no cracks. Running 7 psi, I've seen it creep up to 8 every once in a while. That may be due to the Deltagate though, who knows.
