seems high 12's are common.
I think the Comptech kit puts out 5 psi. The S motor isn't ideal for forced induction due to the 11:1 compression ratio. Is it safe? Yes, IF AND ONLY IF you tune it right and don't get greedy on the boost. The more boost, the more power, and the greater chance of detonation. Controlling detonation is the tricky part. Now, it is SAFE, but the motor will certainly wear out much faster. |

you can easily slap on either the vortech or comptech SC kits and be done with it. Like any other car, it wont last being abused. The setup out of the box is fine, but it can be perfected for better drivability, power, and safety via a standalone engine management and tuning.

get the SC kit first with a stand alone engine management, have it tuned. See what you think, have a few runs at it, be sure to have an higher clamping pressure plate and higher friction disk in your clutch package. If the car is still too slow, upgrade the ring and pinion gears.

Why don't you spend some money on lower cr pistons like 8.5 and then boost the hell out of it with confidence of power output.

i am not sure what 1/4 times would be,(not taken to the track yet...) but my buddy has everything comptech makes for the s2k on his.... i mean everything, his car should be the comptech poster child.....
he runs race gas all the time... w/o a cat drives the car only on weekends he also just installed the richmond final drive, and the 04 comptech pulley for more boost..... ![]()

Does anybody know what would be better to throw on an S2000. A turbocharger or a supercharger. I live in New Mexico and my elevation is pretty high (7,000ft). Would altitude have a factor in this?

S2000 by far. stock for stock the S2K is a low 14 second car. The RSX is a mid-15 second car, low 15's on a good day.
