I dont think so, there are a few people here that reused there gasket as long as its not damaged.
Its safer if its a metal gasket.

A few notes that I found different from yours, and pretty sure u ya ran into it somewhere else on here.
The head-bolts if u decide to reuse em on the z6 head, the two top-corner bolts may be a tad too long or difficult to screw in finger tight on a B7/z6 combo,
xooox
ooooo
with that said, wat bolts do i need for these two, dont like using washers

Second, my B7 dizzy fit like nothing on my z6, didnt have to mod anything..any info on that??
again nice write-up
B7 dizzy is incompatible...you need the Z6 dizzy...

About the head bolts...thats weird...they are the same length and are the same part # for B7 AND Z6... 90005-PM3-003 BOLT-WASHER (10X140) (SAGA)

how is it incompatible....craps up the firing order, timing cant be set right, or worse...no spark?? I didnt have to cut anything, went in like a z6 dizzy, ill take it u tried it, there must be a certain years or sum'n that go together.. eheheh
for that head bolt thing, read somewhere else where they found the same problem in the same two spots.
cant be just me.

Well I just decided what I am going to do when I get my car now. I have a few questions that will be easy to answer but show my lack of d series knowledge. First off I plan to do this in a 88 - 92 civic and I am wondering if any of them come with a bottom end that will not work? If so what models have this bottom end so I can avoid them. My other question is am I still going to use a P28 ECU described in this write up for a non OBD I car and do the same wiring as described? It seems like a really straight forward swap and this write up is excellent. Thanks in advance for your help…

Has anyone done a before and after dyno for their mini-me? Just curious about how much of a gain this would give me.

theres no d-series from those years (88-91) that wont work, unless its a DOHC like the d16a1 or a ZC, which DONT COME STOCK on ef's, so:

if the car hasnt been swapped before, you can do this. If you use a 1.6 si logically youll have more power potential in the long run, and more closely emulate the d16z6

personally i think its not that much more money to save up for something like an LS, but ingenuity of any sort is cool, and vtec doesnt hurt... and who doesnt love that little midget?

great write up Was gonna do my mini me soon, but i was going 2 use a y8 head. I have the complete head and i already converted it 2 obd-1, do i use the y8 water pump and timing belt on the b7 block? Or do i use the zc ones, cause i thought that the cam gear was diff 4 both, y8 has more teeth on the belt. Any one have any info on this?
