Seized balance shaft can engine still run?
hey guys i've been working on this car for the last month now and the car seems like its got a seized balance shaft. Is it possible to run the motor without putting the balance shaft belt back on? if so how will it run? or is there a way to remove it without having to buy an after market replacement for it? thanks.

It will work just fine, just don't put the belt on. Many people run without balance shafts at all. I have been running with no belt on my current engine for 30-40K miles, and my new engine I did the full delete while building.

^It's a good bit more noticeable if you have some stiff mounts, like I have the ESP mounts and you can watch my steering wheel dance all over the place when not holding it. My rear balance shaft spun a bearing and locked up, been driving without a belt for a year with no belt.

Re: Seized balance shaft can engine still run?
Hey so I have a 90 Accord w F22A4 engine. Like will my engine operate ok without the belt. the front balancer shaft is my oil pump. So would make it necessary to have belt. but if it is a electrical pump then it wouldn't need the belt right? the belt and pulley fell off the car while was running the front shaft where oil pump is, I was hoping no damage was done and that I could just remove the belt. If you know the answer to my question please help. thank you for your time.
