Default problems with 09-11 Fit windshield

I have an '11 fit sport with about 500 miles on it. Went out this morning and discovered a serious crack in the windshield. no stone impact that I know of and car was in garage entire weekend. do these cars have seriously thin glass or something?

have not seen it yet honestly on a fit no bulletins for the cracking but there are generic guide lines for having a windshield replaced under warranty in the SB # 09-094 that low of mileage and no impact damage sounds like a no brainer to me. Make and appointment to have it checked out and make sure the service manager/director is there since he is the one who has to sign off on any windshield that is done under warranty obviously since its a breakable part easily while driving just like paint its a long drawn out process to get them to replace it (paperwork wise on our side) hope that helps sir. (yes that is one long sentence )

I've actually seen two more 09-11 fits with a crack in roughly the same place as mine. Seems odd...

I went to the dealership and it looks like they won't cover it. Perhaps the new Honda windshields are just extremely weak or something. My wife's '10 CRV did the same thing around 7K miles. I don't ever remember having these problems with older Hondas. Chips, yes. Complete cracking--no.

I bought my GE in '08. I have never had any cracks, pits, or glass problems of any kind. But I have always used the Honda OEM hood deflector, and don't have any rock chips in the hood either. Bought the deflector from Zeta Products.

I have a chip in my windshield, but no problems with cracking in my 5 months of owning my 09 Fit Sport. I did however have a foglight break on me from an apparent rock impact.

S2000's have the same issue. I blame the rigidity of the frame, probably puts more stress on the weaker parts of the car such as the windshield. I notice that most cracks were originating near the review mirror with S2K's, is that where its happening on the Fit too?

I know this doesn't help but I've been installing glass for 5.5 years now and I've yet to put a windshield in a S2k or GD. I probably replace 2-3 GE shields a month. My wife has 40k on her GD and while the glass is pitted it's never picked up a rock. Aerodynamics have a lot to do with it. I've seen some Elements go through as many as 7 windshields.

There's SB on it. Take it to dealership "09-094". They will take pictures and send it out.

There is a whole long thread about cracking windshields in the Honda Fit forum at edmunds.com ("Stress Fracture on Windshield of Honda Fit"). People are pretty upset.

I have pretty much decided on buying a 2012 Fit later this year; however, this issue does give me a bit of a pause.

Thanks
