Default back from the desert and time to start the build.

I am not new to the boards but, i did spend some time away. I don't have my old blackberry email anymore so i couldn't get my old account info so i made a new one.

So, I have a 98 5spd that i picked up about a year ago when i moved to vegas. I still reside in vegas and am back from a deployment with a bit of money to start the building work. I have a lot of plans so far and will start posting the datas once i start more of the in depth work.

This weekend i got my dc headers, skunk2 megapower exhaust (which is nice but hangs a little too low so it will probably be replaced since i live on an air force base and there are lots of speed bumps) and AIM cai. threw those in along with a used set of tein super streets and dropped it a healthy inch and a half or so (haven't actually measured after dropping, adjusting, and adjusting, and adjusting again) and threw on a set of tenzo 18s and am Loving everything so far.

Future plans and updates will include.

---engine---
jdm 11:1 pistons
cower stage 2 cams and valve train
cower stroking kit (2.49L)
jdm euro r intake manifold
jdm s-spec lightened fly wheel and fairly light duty ACT clutch and plate
ecu

---asthetic/body---
front lip since there is not one currently (looking for suggestions)
carbon fiber hood and trunk (will be paint matched to my sliver because rice isn't my thing)
carbon fiber doors (doing some light research, i have not found a good source confirming these even exist, so i will call that a hopefully)
poly windows and sunroof

---Looking for suggestions---
I have been gone for a while and my last lude was a h23 4th gen so my data is a bit scewed on some things. I am interested in what people recommend as far as the ecu department for the h22a's (mine is an h22a4) and the car is a daily driver and being in vegas, must pass smog tests at least once a year. I am also interested in what people suggest as far as ignition and alternater changes as far as if they are worth doing, or if what im starting to get into even calls for it or not. Looking for info onn suggestions for if my list would call for higher volume injectors/tb's/pump and all. I am beginning research and am very open to suggestings. Thank's in advance for any input.

Get a better header, DC will hardly have any gain over stock.

What header do you recommend? I have been out of the game for a bit and am completely open to recomendations.

Also inresponse to the p28 ecu, will i be able to turn all the sensors and all back on for smog testin?

Another thing i am toying with is the idea of putting a spoiler above the rear windsheild, whatever those are called. Just a thought, anyone know of any, or ever seen any? thoughts on the subject even lol.

thoughts? they are freakin ugly. if you plan on changing the gears in your transmission to go 200mph and need the extra downforce, well...it's still ugly.

Nice looking car man. Good luck with your build. Depending on how much you want to spend on a header....Bisimoto makes some smooth headers with big HP gains. But, they run a bit of ching.

And, thanks for doing what you do over there.

Idk if you can tell from the pic or not but it just says str all over it. There are quite a few blue billit odds and ends that the previous owner put in there. I guess before he got his gf pregnant he was going to do a bunch of eng bay work and make it all blue. He has a Rsd silvia s15 with a heavily built sr20 in it and he did it all balk and im guessing he was doin all the same to this before the need for a 4 door came along.

Thank you, I love the job. I love the tempo and the mission.

I will be posting lots of pictures as this is my first real project. I have done lots and lots of bolt on work but this will be my first major project so right now i am doing lots and lots of reserach to make sure that everything is done the way i want. I also am going to be going on 2 tdy's in the next 4 months and might be doing a short trip back to the desert for ironflow reasons (escorting folded helecopters to and from.) So, progress might be slow at first, but i will be photo documenting everything.

Wow man you are a PJ! Right? Badass man...

Im 17 and plan on doing ROTC hopefully. I saw in a AF magazine recentley that a O3 1st Lieutenant makes more money than a 20 year enlisted Master seargent.

X)

So I can live in a house, not a dorm, and I can build my lude still. Check it out.

O2 1st Lt...

Officer is definitely the way to go. The retirement is great. Unless you're prior enlisted, a fresh O2 1st Lt makes a little less than a 20 year master. you'd have to be a captain(O3) to make more...and it's a LOT more.

I work with the pj's yes. I am not one though. I am on the helicopter side of it. They fly in our heli's. I go tdy with them and get to play around with their toys (gucci m4s and flash/smoke nades and all the fun stuff).

You also have to be married to live on base even as an officer, but you can get an appt/buy or rent a house. And, as far as living in a dorm to living in a house, you are going to college for 4 years to get through rotc, an enlisted person is spending about a year in a dorm (counting technical training and time at your base). most colleges are going to require you spend at least a year in a dorm anyway. You aren't skipping out on much (i never lived in the dorms anyway because I was married when i came in). Also consider what it is that you want to do. Other than rare cases in the AF, most officers are desk job workers. I like doing hands on work too much for that. Once i get pushed into a desk job here on the enlisted side of my job, i will most likely take the AFOQT and apply to be an officer since at that point i will be paper pushing anyway. Really comes down to what you want.

So, anyone have any suggestions as far as intake manifold? I have spent the last few days looking at everything i can find, but a lot of the info seems to be at least 2 or 3 years old. I just want to make sure my info is up to date before i buy anything.

euro-r or Skunk2, I have skunk2 but A lot of people like euro-r because of better MID range power.

I was kind of thinking euro r as well, since the care is a dd, and i spend a lot of time under vtec.

I was going to wait to update till i got it in and took pictures to put up, but i actually ordered one of the jtc's the day i posted the question about them and was doing a little further research and found it. Looks awesome, can't wait to get it in.

also after a bit further research i am thinking that i will probably go with a bisi header, and do a 3in exhuast. have it custom bent to tuck up a little higher, and do a hi-flow cat, and a vibrant 3in in to 3in out flat black muffler. I have seen a lot of good numbers and reviews of that style set up.

So it's been a slow couple weeks for workin on the car. I got the jtc customs short shift kit, and got a little caught up in getting it in in the 30 mins that i had so i didn't rememer to take pictures. the install was super easy, and the reslut is pretty awesome. Loveing the new super short shifts.

today i got a nice suprise. For everyone who's only comment was to get rid of the dc's i present part of my exhaust V.2 Lol

Unfortunately, im still waiting on my vibrant muffler, and michigan registration so i can get the p28+ hondata so i don't have to waste my time and money on a cat, and to replace the ruined primary and secondary o2 sensers for vegas smog checks.
