0b2a GSR Swap Into 93 SI wont Rev. Above 3000 RPM???.. HELP!!!!
Just swapped motors and wired up the new P72 ECU. Got the vehicle to start but wont rev above 3000 RPM. I Used Original dash to strut tower harness from 93 civic OBD1. Not sure if all wires are in order and need some assistance ASAP. Thanks in advance.

tps.. or map sensor is my guess..
its gonna be a intake manifold/ throttle body sensor.. maybe even a vacuum line.. But i highly doubt that..
check those and make sure theyre clean.. and make sure u didnt plug a plug into the wrong spot.. cause they do plug in the same.. lol

Sounds like a dizzy issue check to make sure you are running the correct distributer and cap and rotor. Does it run healthy or sound ok? like at idle? Wait I just read your title, it is the distributer trust me, most likely a crank shaft positioning sensor. Hopefully you are running obd1

nope obd2 but the under dash to strut tower harness is obd1 except i cut the ecu connecters and wired in obd2 plugs from a 98 ex im preety sure i wired it correct but my be not could it be the wiring for the dizzy at the ecu plugs? what would make it not rev above 3500 rpm? but at idle it sounds smooth. oh ya im also running no evap canister.

Holy crap! i wouldnt have cut the plugs! it sounds like your car is going into limp mode. and im gonna guess it has something to do with cutting those plugs.

what is limp mode exactly? what does it mean? and can it be fixed without replacing the entire harness?

Check map and tps, make sure you wired everything up properly and connected everything properly.
Skunk2 and some other no-name brands make an OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness for your ECU also. Should look into that if you are having trouble figuring out which wires go into which pins.
Check dizzy and spark plugs like suggested before.
If none of these solve your poblem, you might need a new ECU or just a reflash or re-tune on your current ECU.

you could've just ran a obd1 p72 ecu without having to cut those plugs. The problem seems like a distributor problem but ecu problems also can cause that. Did you know how it was running b4 you bought it.

WHEN u cut the ECU plugs man!.. it isnt a STRAIGHT CUT AND MATCH wires UP!.. some of the wires from obd1 and obd2a GO INTO DIFFERENT SPOTS!!
CHECK THAT OUT BRO BRO!!

Make sure all the plugs are connected crorrectly including vtec solenoid, then check your ecu ..if using a step down make sure your using the correct harness

if you can get the old plug for the harness to ecu retap it and get a aftermarket conversion harness and see if your good. sounds like you are in limp mode or the tps is swapped with map or the wires are mixed when you taped it into the obd2 plug

This thread makes my head hurt. This was a very simple swap turned into a complicated mess. You could have just used an OBD1 P72 that just plugged in and worked. Or bought a conversion harness (note though that the OBD2 P72 will look for a secondary O2 sensor, a CKF sensor and depending on the year of the ECU a fuel tank pressure sensor, all of which have to be wired in from the the shock tower plugs back to the ECU. (and in the case of the FTP you'll have to swap in a gas tank that has one)

DUDE ur in LIMP mode.. U must have swapped the map sensor around with the TPS sensor.. either the PLUGS/ sensor WIse underneath the hood.. OR u mixed UP the WIRES when connecting the obd2a ECU plugs on the obd1 ECU harness.. <-- I think u did THIS!
im sure what u did was MATCH the ecu harness and plugs.. and just twisted them together.. a obd1 engine harness to obd2a ECU plugs. the wires arent exactly straight across.. the wires are moved.. around on the obd2a ECU.. If u notice the obd1 to obd2a ECU jumper harness.. those connecting wires are MOVED to the correct spot..
either find exactly what u did wrong and move the wires to the correct spot.. or just PUT the obd1 ECU plugs back in the rite spot.. SOLDER them.. to make a good connection.. go and BUY a jumper harness or get a obd1 GSR.. VTEC ecu.. whatever u want.. and Im POSITIVE u will be working great..
OR double check and make sure u wired the obd2a plugs.. to the right obd1 Engine Harness wires correctly

damn bro calm down..
so no luck yet?..
what exactly did u do now?.. u should just resolder the obd1 ECU plugs back In.. get a obd1 to obd2a Jumper harness to run that ECU.. or get a obd1 ECU and run that one..
It seems like this way is out of ur reach.. id try a different route before giving up man!
